Its a done deal. Granger and Clips have come to some terms, can;t find out the specifics just yet. If anyone has any info or insight please post about it here.

Can't imagine it moves the needle even if Granger stays there through next season.  He's just not an impact player at this stage in his career.

These midseason buy-outs rarely pan out as well as people expect. Granger is a unique case because he's younger. But I don't expect him to ever be more than a temporary fixture in this teams starting lineup.

Granger will make the clipper's a deeper team. But that pick next year hinges solely on the health of the clippers stars.

Also with the addition of Big Baby...almost forgot that.

IMHO I think with the West being so super competitive that there is a strong chance this pick could be in the lottery. I'll admit that I am fantasizing a bit. But with their big 3 if an injury or two were to happen I would expect them to miss the playoffs.  I guess with the current situation in the league with injuries and what happened to the knicks giving their pick away to denver, you just can;t rule out anything.

If Davis or Granger play in such a way that has a major effect on the Clippers playoff outcome this season, the Clippers will not have the ability to keep both if either.

At most, they can offer one of them the MLE.

It doesn't, not unless Granger shows he can still play. Heck if he really blows up they'd have a harder time affording his next contract.

The Pacers didn't think he could help them, so I'm skeptical he does much for the Clippers this year let alone next.

I heard Barkley just saying how Granger would have been better off going to San Antonio because they would incorporate him into their system better, like shooting off screens. Whereas the Clips have Jamal crawford who dominates the ball for their second unit, and Barkley thinks that makes him less effective.

That's along my thinking too.  This move isn't going to be anything ground shaking, IMO.

I think it moves a little bit.
Granger is only 30, on his 9th season.
He can still have an impact.
Paul
Crawford
Granger
Griffin
Jordan

They could easily be top 3 in the west next year. They're top 4 right now.

They still have to resign him.  Does he take the MLE or less?

And if he is not worth that, does it matter?

They could top 4, top 3, top 2, or top 1 by next year with or without Granger.

Honestly, I think they will spend more resources resigning Davis then Granger.

30 is different for different players.

Paul Pierce, KG, Ray Allen, etc were all still awesome at 30. Granger missed over a year with a degenerative knee condition, jumper's knee, that doesn't get better really. Since coming back he's been basically a three point shooter, who can't shoot.

42% of his shots have been 3s, he's only making 33% of them. His 2PT% is an awful 38%. He's still rebounding and defending okay with his length, but offensively he looks very cooked.

This thread topic is about how our pick will be effected with the addition of Granger. Also the thread you are talking about says rumor while this one states it as fact

It's just not good use of the forums to open up multiple threads in the same subject, and to open up a new thread before reading the other threads that have the same info.

That's what the moderators are here for.

The threads were two distinct things.  I looked at the other thread.  It was originally titled "Rumor: Granger to the Clippers".  Then buried on the last post was your post saying it was finalized.  Nothing else.  No mention of any potential impact on the the Celtics pick or anything.  You posted a link but made no other comments to initiate discussion.

This thread was established around discussion on the impact of Granger's Clippers signing to the Celtics pick. The OP indicated it in the thread title although he probably could've discussed it more in his original post.

If you wanted to talk about it, you could've elaborated on your post or simply started a new thread.
