I have this feeling that regardless of whatever moves we make this summer, that Paul Pierce returns to the Celtics on 1-2 year deal and then calls it a career.

Personally, I think it would be awesome for him to win another NBA title as a Celtic before he calls it quits.

Anyone else feel that Paul comes back to the Celtics?

I don't think he comes back unless there are some mega-trades that convince him the C's will be a contending playoff team.

I expect him to get mini-MLE type offers to go to contenders  and pick the one best suited for him.

Absolutely! He said he would love to retire a celtic, he's loyal to the organisation, I don't see him going anywhere else. ;)

My dream scenario would be having Love and Melo coming to Boston as well, forming the new big 3 with rondo, then Pierce can play the sixth man role with minutes properly regulated. Hope that can net Pierce his 2nd ring ;D

Would love KG to become our big man's coach after he retires too. Our bigs definitely need some of the toughness that KG brings. Imagine KO get toughen up by KG, he's gonna be a much much better player.

I agree, he might head to a contender to get another ring, but I also think he will sign with the Celtics to retire one.

Pacers have to prove that they can beat the Heat, so he isn't going to the Pacers. The exact same situation applies for OKC. There is no way that he is going to leave KG and go to Spurs to play with KG's rival. Clippers have yet to get out of first round. Those are your legit contenders.

Please don't tell me that Pierce will go to the Heat. I will be speechless if he even puts that on his list of possible destinations. He might want a ring, but he ain't going to kill his public image for the ring like Allen did.

I think he might sign a one year deal with the C's, somehow get the Celtics to get back KG by trade, and then retire together after end of next season.

KG is no lock to play next year, he could very well retire.

Even if KG plays I can see Pierce leaving the Nets for a better situation.

I think its a very real possibility, but it absolutely depends on the direction they go.  I have a feeling Doc will be calling him to try to bring him back home to LA as well, and if the C's don't have a contender next year, that might be too hard to resist.

I wouldn't be surprised if he went somewhere else that has a shot at winning a title, but at the end of the day he will retire in green.

Yeah Doc will definitely lobby him, they need a SF in LA.

I also think the reports of him being miserable in BKN need to be considered. They've turned it around somewhat, but its still far from the team that he thought it'd be.

if he comes back to the celtics, it will be on a one-day contract so he can retire a celtic. indeed, i have no desire to watch pierce on a bad celtic team. it would be disheartening for pierce, many fans, and especially me.

let him get another title, then retire a celtic. that, for me, is the fairytale ending.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Would love to see it happen although I think its more likely he ends up somewhere else that is closer to contending as a gun for hire.

I most likely see KG retiring and Pierce joining Doc and Big Baby on the Clippers. He's from LA, has a house in LA, and loves to play for Doc.
