If you were Rondo. Would you stay or would you go

 Keep your feelings aside. If you were soon to be 30 year old Rondo do you want a slow and steady rise with the Celtics loaded with picks and likely to be very good but not for at least three years.

 Or for the purpose of this thread would you rather go to a team like Sacramento, Rudy Gay a veteran ball hog scorer, and one of the best young big men in the game Demarcus who's only 23 years old but also a head case. It's either a team like that of a team with a high lottery pick you would be going to.

 What path would you choose if you were Rajon.

He's not soon to be 30, he just turned 28. Hopefully by the time he turns 30, we're ready to contend again, but it'll take a big free agent signing for that to happen. Even though Rondo apparently didn't want to go to Sacramento, I think a trio of Rondo, Gay, and Cousins with their heads on straight could make a bit of noise in the West.

Be patient and wait to see what happens. Then make decision when I am a free agent.

I don't expect a slow and steady rise. I think it'll be a sharp and sudden rise. One sparked by a major trade or two made by Ainge to bring a proven star or stars to Boston to go along with Rondo and a few good young pieces.

And if that happens in time, I stay in Boston.

If it doesn't, I look at alternatives. If there is a ready made contender out there, I probably go. If not, I gamble on Ainge and resign on Boston. Probably on a contract with good flexibility in case things don't go to plan.

Either way, at this point in time, I wouldn't be making any final decisions. Not enough information. Sit and wait. See how Ainge does over the next 18 months. What he is able to add and achieve with the trade assets he is building.

If I'm rondo I wait until I'm a free agent then make a decision, I'm not agreeing to an extension if I'm traded because that will hurt my bank account. If the c's are bad next year it's in their best interest to deal me since I obviously won't be staying

If I were Rondo, I would ask Ainge what he wants. If Ainge says he want him to stay and be the team leader, I would ask for a clear, strong commitment from Ainge both in terms of a long term contract and in terms of what the plan is to rebuild. If Ainge waivers then I'm out the door.

If I were Rondo, I would sign an extension with the Celtics this summer.

If I was Rondo, I wouldn't sign an extension. I would hit free agency but I'd give DA the first crack at signing me. If he can present a convincing plan to return to contention by the time I hit 30, no doubt I return to Boston. If there's a ready contender though, and Boston isn't ready, I will likely jump ship.

Perhaps reality is more amiable than the doom and gloom many posters allude to.

As far as the topic, loyalty is big in my book and like Rondo, I don't like change much (even though I understand it is necessary sometimes).  So I'm guessing I'll likely be staying.

And he already won a championship.  Not much he'd be chasing.

I'd be willing to bet he'd want to chase another one. And I'm just guessing here, but I'm pretty sure he wants one where he's considered more than just the 4th or 5th most important piece.

I'd be inclined to stay, but I'd wait until free agency and be willing to leave if it looks like I can be a top player on an almost guaranteed championship team somewhere else or if I feel like the team is being run into the ground.

Loyalty is a two-way street, though, and I'd be looking for a no-trade clause so I can't be treated like Paul Pierce.

If there is one thing every single one of us here at Celticsblog could agree on, it would be that literally no one ANYWHERE could think what Rondo is thinking and/or why he is thinking it.
