Saw a thread about this on realgm. Didn't hear it myself, but this is what was posted

Quote
Jackie MacMullan on CSNNE: "I keep hearing Dante Exum is someone (the Celtics) really like."

"In this draft, the Celtics had to be bad. I don't think he (Ainge) is denying that."

She basically said the Celtics are bad for a reason, and that's to get an impact player in this draft.

Jackie likes Randle. Would take Parker #1.

Rondo sending mixed signals. She doesn't think he knows yet if he wants to stay.

Wish there was more video of this kid . From what I saw , he kind of looked like a Devin Harris to me....

I'm waiting until this time next year, when I can exhume all the Exum threads.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Chad Ford wrote this in the fall I believe that the C's have scouted Exum harder than any other team...

Scary that I haven't seen him at all if the C's end up taking him.

We also heard Danny "loved" Giannis Antentokoumpo.  Didn't end up taking him though.

Last year the big rumor on a foreign player was Ainge loved Adetekumbo and that the C's were the team most scouting him.

Ainge traded up and took Olynyk.

So I guess we have to take these reports with a grain of salt.

He is a guy I could see the Cs being very high on. Drafting Exum would likely mean Rondo gets traded. From what Ive read he really wants to come join a team where he can step right in and play PG. I will agree with you that the video I have seen is reminiscent of Devin Harris. This isn't a bad thing at his peak Harris averaged 21pts a game and was possibly the fastest guard in the NBA. Mind you he is 6'3 Exum is 6'6 so think of the added production that would come from being 4" taller then most PGs.

I think when this draft is looked back on 8 yrs from now Exum and Embiid are the best over all players in this draft.

I haven't seen enough of Exum to say that but I am fairly confident that Embiid will be an NBA All-Star center for a long time....

Maybe all we can take from this is that the celtics do a lot of scouting of foreign players, even though it hasn't resulted in a first round pick.

I wish we could see some complete games. Judging from highlights or draft express videos is so bad.  :(

Edit - but those draft express videos are a nice compliment to watching a few full games.

Can't wait for the lottery and draft night to come. All this is making me nervous.

Danny was in love with Yi in 2007, too.

And we all know how that worked out.

Let's hope this is misdirection. I don't care for Exum's game.

His highlight mixtapes dont have nearly enough slow-motion dunks and hip hop music.

He's gonna be a bust.
