I think this would be a good low-risk signing and it clearly shows that Pressey might not be in our long term plans as a backup point guard.

Roddy would definitely be an upgrade over Pressey who has been a disappointment so far this season, shooting just 28% from the field. I always root for undrafted guys but I am not sure Pressey is an NBA player.

Decision to sign Beaubois or not will come in the next few days.

Roddy could actually play next to Rondo, whereas Pressey is a pure game managing point guard.

However, Roddy seems like a clone of Jerryd Bayless to me, only perhaps with higher upside.

did some reading, and the guy can score, at least when he was with the mavericks.

but his career was sidelined by recurring foot injuries, broken bones, and the like.

if he is healthy he might be a good scorer off the bench. this is certainly the season to gamble on talent and see what happens. can't hurt to sign him for the season.

It makes sense he fits the physical profile that DA seems to like / has good luck with. He is similar size to Rondo and AB with extreme length and before injury elite athleticism. He and bayless could essentially both be in a tryout period for the team to sign next yr.

As much as I like Pressy I don't think he will ever really be part of any long term plans. He doesn't have the dominate physical tools and skill set that is needed to stick long term in the nba at his size.

Rodrigue Beaubois was brought in by the Celtics for a private workout on Tuesday and is said to have had a “strong showing,” reports Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com. Boston currently has one open roster spot, and Haynes adds that a decision to sign him or not is expected soon. Beaubois became a free agent in the offseason after the Mavericks chose not to offer him a new contract.

The 6’2 guard underwent hand surgery in March of last year to repair a fractured metacarpal in his left hand and has reportedly recovered. It’s worth noting that not only was it the third time he had the operation, but Haynes writes that it was the sole reason why the French point guard was unable to land on an NBA roster last summer.

Originally selected 25th overall by the Thunder in 2009, Beaubois was traded to Dallas and spent four seasons with the Mavs; he owns career averages of 7.1 PPG, 2.1 APG, and nearly 44% shooting overall in 15.9 MPG.

Good athlete and defender. No PG skills. Weak shooter + unreliable streaky scorer.

Not sure Beaubois is an NBA player. If he is, he is a 3rd stringer.

UPDATE!:
Glad that i got your attention.
Celtics are reportedly considering signing Roddy to a 10-day deal! I remember him playing well with Dallas, injuries just messed up his career.

Low risk, high reward signing, I like it.
I would like us to go after Jimmer Fredette as well ::)

Wonder if the C's would be thinking of keeping him for the rest of the season and signing him to a second year completely non-guaranteed because they:

1. Plan on buying out Jared Bayless because to save some money

2. Want to have another useful non-guaranteed trade asset to include in any off season trades

3. Feel Pressey is a lost cause at backup PG

4. All of the above.

I think one way or the other Danny signs someone to a contract to end the season and gives them a non-guaranteed contract for next year. Its his M. O. for late season acquisitions that he then tries to use as trade filler during the off season.

His 6'10" wingspan (staggering for someone 6'2") and quickness and speed will make him a great defender in Stevens system.

Get Ron Adams to work the same magic he did with CLee and Rondo, and we got ourselves a two-way player.
