I'm just passing on what I heard -- found it curious Rondo would volunteer a "That's not true" answer when Stevens' statement was relayed to him. There are less confrontational ways to address that issue.

Rondo is an absolute diva without the superstar talent. Should have traded him for a good haul. He is not the indispensable star player that celtics fans believe he is. This act shouldn't fly in Boston. He isn't a dirt dog player, there is no room for divas on this squad.

A "good haul" is relative and I think Danny has been and will be open to that possibility for any player, but it hasn't presented itself for Rondo.

Dumb move on Rondo's part. He should be setting an example for the young talent and if he wasn't given permission to be away from the team during a game, then he should have been at the game.

I really don't care if family was in town or it was his birthday. He's rich enough to have the whole family shipped up to Sactown where they could have had a party that night.

Wow, really? The kid turned 28 on Saturday and had a lot of family and friends present for a party. He wasn't going to play anyway, and Doc used to allow KG/PP days off all the time. You can hardly blame Rondo for doing what he did. I'm sure Ainge will clarify team policy with Rondo, and that'll be that. I swear, people find the smallest things to criticize Rondo about.

It's a communication disconnect.  Rondo should've communicated his plans to someone.  That's where he went wrong.

It a relatively minor issue (and the team seems to think so also) so I think burning him at the stake is a big overboard but we certainly know those with the anti-Rondo bias will take out their torches and trying and rally up the mobs.

Mistake by Rondo, but this is a very minor story that is being treated as something more because Rondo is a polarizing figure and people in the media know they can get a lot of attention and stir up controversy if they make Rondo out to be villain.

It doesn't help that nothing worth talking about is happening on the court so these off-court things and tanking are the only stories with any traction.

The phrase I couldn't care less seems appropriate here.

I mean, would you want to go to Sacramento if you didn't have to?
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

I'm just passing on what I heard -- found it curious Rondo would volunteer a "That's not true" answer when Stevens' statement was relayed to him. There are less confrontational ways to address that issue.

I seen that interview..he didn't say in a confrontational way at all. He really was just letting people know that yeah, he's off min restrictions, but don't expect him to play 40 mins. He even proceeded to say that he doesn't need to play that many mins because there's good talent on the floor while he's on the bench.

I think he wanted to clarify for the media that hey, my min "restrictions" are officially off by a doctor, but I'm still not going to be playing a lot of mins..I'm not fully back.

Fair enough, I may have seen it out of context.

I really think he said that so the media wouldn't get ahead of themselves.

Well he was not scheduled to play anyways...why the heck would he have to show up to watch a bunch of nobodies playing (and then eventually losing, which works in my favor) when he could just celebrate his birthday? I would, too.  :)

And if Ainge thinks about suspending him and going for a harsh punishment, then he better watch what he does. He should be focused more on getting talents onto this team and phone calling other GMs for offers lol.

Just my two cents!
