Just curious what everyones preferences are since most of are spend more time checking the bottom of the standings.

Here are my preferences for the C's in order of availability:

NBA Starters and maybe Stars
1. Embid (a legit Center…enough said)
2. Parker (perennial all-star…elite scorer..some say Carmelo with a brain)
3. Wiggins (the size the stroke and the athletic ability…but is there some J.Green in there?)
4. Exum (very young, athletic, aggressive, huge upside…who has he played against?)
5. Noah Vonleh (just see Bosh all over this kid, 6'10 and long…also from Mass)

Role Palyers or better?
6. Randle (love his tenacity but afraid of his athletic ability)
7. Smart (a leader with constant effort but afraid of his jump shot)
8. Gordon (Rondo to Gordon = Dunk but afraid of his jump shot)
9. Harris (solid two-way a little undersized)
10. Ennis (is he good or just steady…is that the same thing?)

High Risk High Reward
11. Cauly-Stein (really hoping to land Stein with our second if we don't score Embid)
12. Saric (DUI's, Argues with coaches, lots of unknowns)
13. McDermott (slow for the 3 spot but can he shot…PER is a 34 think our highest is a 19)
14. Hood (Tall and can score…how good can he be?)

(1) Parker
(2) Exum
--------
Everyone else. Im really really down on Wiggins. He could be Jeff Green 2.0

Also Im pretty sure Embiid is staying in school if not I'd have him at (1).

Generally agree, although I have Harris in the first group, I think he is a perfect size at the 2. And I would add Payne to the second group.

a quick Bosh/Vonleh comparison..by the numbers

FG%   3pt%    FT%    REB    AST    BLK    PTS     Min Per Game
Bosh        56     48       73         9        1.2      2.2      15.6       31
Vonleh     54     54       71         9.4      0.6    1.3      11.7       26.2

Both 6'10

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I'll put Randle at a Starter level.

He lacks athleticism but he can rebound in an NBA level along with his physicality.

He may not average a double double, but he can be the best PF in a team that would average 16-7. Remember, we still havent seen him shoot mid range because Kentucky's game plan doesnt allow him so, but he's supposed to have a solid jump shot.

Parker #1

Embiid #2

Exum   #3

Wiggins. 4th

Randle, Hood , Smart .....5,6,7

I think Parker has separated himself as THE man......he may grow another inch or two even ......not even a question who is the star.

What a total waste ....Parker to the Buck s .......just horrible.........this would make me stay in school ,  we can't get Parker ,  Buck suck sooooooooooooo bad.

I predict well at best get Exum........and at least Hood or Randle .....outside chance on Wiiggin as I think he drops several spots on draft night.

I like Parker as well…but when I think of great Centers…Hakkeem, Shaq, Robinson,  they all have rings….Howard has been to the finals and could be again very shortly.  Still a tough debate for me.

I also think that whoever gets the 1st and second pick are going to hold on to it…those who have anything after might be persuaded to trade down.

Ainge has the resources to try an move up if he really likes someone that other teams think are a risk or just a piece that won't fit.

This will be a great thing for him. He really looks like he can't defend NBA 3's. If he gets legitimate PF length, with that skill level and his rebounding mentality, good God!

Anyone watching Michigan/Michagan St right now? Nik Stauskas is a guy who's been picking up steam as a draft prospect. Legit 2 guard size and can shoot lights out. Could be a consideration with our other pick...

I´m not following college ball, so my opinion on these kid´s games is based on very limited information.

Nevertheless, I think whoever picks Parker will regret it. Still has a lot of growing up to do, it seems he has been shielded from reality too much. He´ll face the same existential questions we´ve all faced at some point in our lives, only he will have money and fame in abundance. Don´t forget how perverted (not in a sexual sense) life under the spotlight can be, and life´s traps are manifold. Some take it better than others, and I have strong doubts regarding Parker. I think he´s a burn-out waiting to happen. Not to mention that his game might not translate to the NBA as well as one would hope.

Wiggins, on the other hand, seems to be way simpler constructed than Parker (which is a plus), and has been under the spotlight since he was a little boy. Considering that, I think it´s remarkable how team-oriented he plays, his effort on defense, and how he still tries to get his points in the flow of the game, rather than forcing the issue.

Granted, that´s a completely unscientific assessment of two of the most talked about rookies in this year´s draft, but I do believe that many people overlook the very real danger in taking Parker too high when they talk about the top of this draft.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.
