2007 Plan A = Oden or Durant
2007 Plan B = What you ended up seeing...small window contender

2014 Plan A = Embiid, Wiggins, Parker, Exum, Randle??, Vonleh??  No telling how deep Ainge sees it.

2014 Plan B = We'll see what happens.
I'm calling it right now: the chance that we'll get Embiid, Wiggins, or Parker is slim to none.

What's slim to you? Right now we're at 1/5 shot.

I don see that as anything dramatic prediction .   Pretty safe guess .

Danny may have miscalculated how long it would take Stevens become adjusted.

So .....it does seem.....that Danny may have held on to players he should have dumped ......ones that an't part of the future that are messing the tank plan up.

I agree  :)........I think we are looking at a  7 th to 9 th pick  .....after yesterday's failure to dump assets

If the plan includes Rondo, then it clearly can include any other players we have that are his age: this includes Green, Bass, and Humphries. The problem is that there are not many franchise-changing players that will leave through free agency in the coming seasons, and even if there is one we can probably scrape together the cap space without doing any major moves.

10% percent chance looks pretty slim to me.

Well right now it's actually a 21% chance.  Lakers would have a 28% chance... presuming the Top 3 ends up being Embiid, Wiggins and Parker.

We're only a half game out of the 4th best odds, though.  And it's exceptionally rare that the Top 3 ends up being the three teams with the three worst records.  In fact, I don't think it's ever happened.

This is correct. But slide 3 spots down, and it's a 6% chance. And we're only 3 games out of that, too.

Oh well.  We might as well just make the playoffs and end up with the 15th and 18th picks.  *shrug*

I have faith in Ainge.  He didn't bite on a Rondo trade and was comfortable keeping the contributing vets... so either he's failing at his job or he thinks we don't need a Top 5 pick to get the "great players" he clearly understands we need.

If we slide 3 games the other way we're up to 46.9%.

I think Danny made his choice.  I don't really subscribe to the idea that Rondo is gone this summer even though there's a lot of noise right now in the media that says it's inevitable.

I'm over that.  Rondo will be here long-term (or bail on us in summer 2015).  Here's hoping Sully continues to surprise.  If he can play consistently like he's been able to play sporadically, we might have 2/3 of our next Big 3.  We just need a KG-level superstar for those two to surround.  Luckily we have boatloads of assets in the event a KG-level superstar becomes available and someone wants to take 8 dimes for a dollar.

If he shows up next fall packing 240 lbs of lean muscle, I'm sold. Otherwise, not so much.

This.

I think we will know a lot about Sully based on his offseason workouts.

As to needing another KG level talent. There are none in the league right now. Aside from Lebron James and Kevin Durant, there really are no true superstar franchise changing types in the league right now. So might as well hope that we pry a center away from a team like the Bucks or Detroit and hope that someone like Monroe or Sanders works out (maybe not them but at least someone with size and skill that can be had with Danny's assets). I think we will probably end up with a pick between 4-7 which has varying levels of potential, but aside from possibly Exum all likely good solid NBA starter types.

Personally, I think that this summer is bigger for us than the 2015 summer because more can likely be had this summer for us with the assets we have right now.
