As I said, I couldn't care less if he isn't the second coming of MJ, but at least he goes out hard and gives all he can. Pretty good jump shooter. Rebounds better than Jeff Green. Gives Rondo many of his assists.

His hands are awful...guy has trouble catching simple passes, but that's basically it, as well as the fact that he is better suited as a bench player. But he's a hustle guy and I respect that. The only reason I wanted him moved was to force Stevens to give more mins to Sully and Olynyk, but it's not like him being on the roster does much win/loss wise

As I said, short memory... because his career with the Celtics hasn't been defined by playing hard and giving all he can.

He's done his job for the most part this year, but he was pretty apathetic with his effort through much of last season, and there were multitude of allusions to his pouting when he got taken off the starting unit... a role he really hadn't earned in the first place.

So spare me the "poor Bass who always plays hard as is a team player" shtick, particularly for a player who's nickname is "No Pass Bass" and for good reason.

He's a nice likable guy, and I like him myself, but please...

It's very possible that Danny wasn't as desperate to move him as some members of the local media and fan base were. 

I'm glad he's sticking around.  Having a seasoned (but still relatively young) vet who is probably best suited to coming off the bench, but has proven himself to be a capable starter, is a very nice thing to have at his price tag

Bass' trade value should be even higher next season and during the Summer, also Ainge already did some salary shedding moves during the season (like Courtney Lee) so the "need" to move Bass has quite diminished.

Personally I would've settled on a move in which he was undervalued because I think Ainge would've made better use of next seasons' cap flexibility, but retaining Bass if no good deal was around is not a bad move either, and may prove to be the correct move yet.

Do I wish he was traded? Yes! Do I really hate him? No.

this right here. if we had more talent on our team i don't think we would mind bass. he is a 3rd/4th big off the bench player that is starting right now. don't blame him for being the wrong shoe for the foot. i have been a big advocate of trading him to open up minutes for our other young bigs but i cant knock his game. he's consistent and if put in the right situation he can be a valuable contributor to any team. his first year here he played very well in a supporting role even though he was starting he played well around other higher talent. he just doesn't fit our team long term. a little disappointed on no moves being made because i feel this team currently is just treading water with no direction but this makes me believe we are going to have a very very interesting draft night.
