I love Rondo, don't want to see him go anywhere .

Only way I could see us trading him is if we land a top 3 pick with our own pick so we would have a franchise player to build around. Then I could see Danny trading Rondo for a top 5-8 pick and a few other young pieces because they would fit better age wise for when our core of Sully ,Bradley? and top 3 pick would be ready to contend .

Could have something like

PG: Smart or Ennis
SG: Bradley?
SF: Wiggins or Parker
PF: Sully
 C: ?

but if they don't land a top 3 pick I think they are definitely going to be trading to build around Rondo, which I would have no problem with either .

Not giving rondo away for young role players and low picks like Houston is offering .

If you get a franchise player you keep Rondo, use some of your future picks to upgrade a couple of our other spots and contend in a year or two.

Kevin O'Conner wrote a good article as the Devil's Advocate.

What he stated are compelling reasons to a reasonable person. Many more reasons to trade him exist, but are not necessary to mention.

Strike while the iron is hot and don't blow the opportunity by being outrageous in what you want in return.

Yes, trade him and move on to the next era in Celtics basketball.

No, I wouldn't like it. Even if the return is great for Boston, it'd be sad to see him go.

It's a silly thread. Are we getting back Durant, or the flotsam than we see in most of the proposals?

For the right pieces, certainly.

End of discussion.

Well, it kind of depends what folks mean by "the right pieces."  That part is certainly up for debate.

would only want to move him if we were getting a better player, not the pieces of flotsam that were being proposed in all these trade suggestions.

I don't mean better in the eyes of some of the posters here -- some think a new ball rack is a better team asset -- someone that universally regarded as better.  lebron, Durant, CP3, Paul George, Harden, Dwight Howard, etc… someone who's on the top tier of talent or [dang] close to it.

I voted yes. I don't think Rondo can be your best player if you want to be a contender.

If we got Parsons, Jones and 2 picks (throw in Asik or Lin to make the salaries work), I'd be happy. I don't know why the rockets are hesitant to include CP in the deal. Rondo as their #3 pretty much solidifies their status as a true contender.

I also kinda liked that Kings deal (Mclemore, Thomas and 2 picks) to be honest.

Yes, but Rondo has already been the best player on a contender . . . twice.  This actually happened.

If Rondo is traded tomorrow, do you think you'll stick around or follow him to his new team?
