Why do you have to trade Rondo? After Ray Allen, Rondo's name has been in trade talks since 2008.

Build around Rondo, don't let go.

Danny wont trade rondo unless he gets superstar talent back IMO...we've heard all these rumors before. but the only one that really had any traction was the Chris Paul rumors.

and CP3 IS a superstar talent so it made sense.

spot on... DA wants to win as soon as possible, even next year. He is not going to build a team with young players rather he will use the assets as trade bait..

The offer would really have to be overwheling to trade Rondo

I think Danny will go whatever way gets the best traction. Which I don't think will be this deadline, the draft seems a more likely spot to buy to add to Rondo or sell Rondo to complete the blow up.

Don't do it, Danny.  This forum will be less entertaining without people going nuts that you haven't traded Rondo.

This. Having Rondo here is better for this team long term than losing him for a variety of reasons including veteran leadership and destination spot (i.e guys like Melo quoted that they'd play for him). He could speed up the rebuild, it's the type of piece most rebuilding teams don't have.

Luckily for you, myself, and many others on here, I'm sure DA understands that and will only trade him for a king's ransom, unlike some of the armchair GMs here who think he's worth a happy meal

IDK...

I think there's likely to be just as many posters that would go nuts if Danny does trade Rondo.

It’s unlikely that any set of unprotected first round picks would get it done. At least one of them would have to be a high lottery pick, which are pretty hard to pry away from teams with how much talent there is in the 2014 NBA Draft pool. Asking for two is almost like saying he is just flat out unavailable, but we’ve seen teams move mountains in the past to acquire players of Rondo’s caliber.

Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

I'd worry about the future of this blog, given its heavy Rondo tilt.

Don't expect it to happen ... but to say the least, the hysteria here over the notion of trading Rondo is high-quality entertainment at its finest.

And if it does happen, there's always the spectre of the night Garnett was acquired and the hissy fit thrown by the poster Brickowski, who maintained staunchly how Danny overpaid.

Either way, many laughs are ahead.

What are the chances rondo gets traded by thurs vs remain put? 50-50? 30-70?

I assume most fans will be shocked if he is traded

I don't think Danny is stupid enough to trade Rondo for scrubs and pieces. It's exactly what some people say. 2 unprotected First rounders and a young potential all-star. That or no deal.

I think there is less than a 10% chance of Rondo being traded. The report that came out basically verifies that Rondo won't be traded. It's interesting going to forums of other NBA teams like the Knicks and the Raptors. They actually believe these smokescreen reports.

When a GM throws out an unrealistic trade idea, he's basically saying Rondo won't be traded without literally saying it. Now if a team is actually willing to part with that many assets..then we will see. I don't think any team will, though.

Ainge being so ruthless works great for us but at times like this he is just an easy target for the media to exploit.

I think maybe a bit of it is just Rondo because "he is so unhappy"/"hard to deal with"/"we think he would love to start fresh!" narratives ESPN comes up with that they try to write into existence in these rumor columns.  J A Adande writing Rondo should be traded because ESPN has been writing rumors about it for years already so do it.

Also like others have been saying: the difference between listening to an offer and trying to sell something.  I would listen to an offer for even things I can't imagine selling just to hear what is said.

Danny got the offer from sac. I think sac will revise the offer and take out an extra 1st or ask for AB also. I have a feeling they will try to make this happen. The trade for gay and williams cant be for nothing
