Yahoo Sports rumor: SAC offered IT, McLemore, 2 picks for Rondo

I haven't seen this anywhere else so apologies if posted already, but I saw this on the Yahoo power rankings for this week:

26. Boston Celtics (19-35; last week's ranking: 26): Source said Sacramento offered Isaiah Thomas, Ben McLemore and two picks for Rajon Rondo. Rondo wasn’t interested in re-signing with Sacramento.

I am not in the trade Rondo camp but I think this is one I'd go for. 

And, yes, different rumors I think should have different threads.  Easier to sort though.  Thanks for your concern.

I have heard variations on this deal. It's one that would be hard to pass up if we are truly looking to rebuild. Thomas is averaging over 20 points and 6 assists a game. That is pretty awesome even if he will never be top tier. Acquiring him, McLemore (who was possibly thought to be the top player in last year's draft), as well as two future firsts seems like a decent haul for Rondo - especially since there is no guarantee that Cousins, Gay, and Rondo will be amazing.

I am perfectly happy hanging on to Rajon and seeing what we can build in the short term, but that is a very solid offer - much better than Asik, Lin, and a first.

Don't know anything about McLemore, but this would have been pretty good.

The "picks" must not have been first rounders, or they were a "right to swap" instead of a full pick.  Right now, Sacramento can only trade its 2019 or 2020 #1 (not both) unless they get another #1 back.

Ah thanks, Roy.  I should have checked that.  I don't think I'd do it w/out access to their 2014 pick.

The 2015 Clips pick wouldn't be too high a price for me, as long as we were getting back their 2014 pick (1-12 range) and 2016 pick (unprotected). Wouldn't that work?

They could always give us a right to swap the Atlanta/Nets pick for their #1.  But yeah...  I don't think Danny wants to give up any of our draft pick assets in a Rondo trade.

The rumor doesn't make alot of sense. Why would Sac ask Rondo now if he will resign. He is still signed for next season

Outside of that, its a good deal for the celts. Thomas and Bayless can become roomates =]
