I have heard variations on this deal. It's one that would be hard to pass up if we are truly looking to rebuild. Thomas is averaging over 20 points and 6 assists a game. That is pretty awesome even if he will never be top tier. Acquiring him, McLemore (who was possibly thought to be the top player in last year's draft), as well as two future firsts seems like a decent haul for Rondo - especially since there is no guarantee that Cousins, Gay, and Rondo will be amazing.
I am perfectly happy hanging on to Rajon and seeing what we can build in the short term, but that is a very solid offer - much better than Asik, Lin, and a first.
