He's raw, but just curious, why is Dakari Johnson listed in the 2015 NBA draft, not the 2014 draft?  Very much a true center with a lot of upside.  Probably lottery pick if he were in this coming draft.

well, keep in mind that the celtics are going to stink for a couple of years at least. i expect them to be back in the lottery next year, so anything is possible.

and for what it is worth, 4 of the top 6 picks for 2015 as projected by draftexpress are centers. if the celtics dont get a center this year, there is always next year.  :)

He's been getting very limited playing time at UK. I don't think he is NBA ready yet.

Im a huge UK fan and trust me, none of those UK players aren't NBA ready yet!! Only one who I would pick would be Randle..the others, blah
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Looked pretty good tonight, so I thought I would refresh this thread.  Probably won't declare until 2015 though.

I think he started only to motivate Cauley Stein.   He has size but is not a good player, yet.  NBA body, high school skillset.  KYY big advantage was their size so it does not surprise me he did well last night.

This is why he is not going to NBA this year.

5 PPG and 3.9 RPG in that body.  13.5 MPG and only .6 BPG in that time.  He will have to play more so he may benefit by not having Cauley- Stein behind him in terms of production.

According to espn, Johnson was a top 10 recruit last year. He is expected to improve with more playing time, but there are no guarantees.

Other top 10 recruits that need more time: the Harrison twins, and Kasey Hill on Florida.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Another year would help him.

He has the size, but he's still has a long ways to go. Assuming WCS will leave, it'll be the perfect platform for him to see what he's got by next year.

2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

Yeah he is a big body, but right now he doesn't look like he belongs in the NBA. He had a nice game against a small frontline.

Will be interesting to see how he matures over the next year.  Has a prototype pro center's body, similar to Bynum.  Problem with Calipari is he gets all these stars but they don't start playing together until the tournament.  Kentucky sorely needs a good PG to act as floor general out there.

It's silly. They have 8 future NBA players on that team. 6 freshmen and 2 sophomores. Lee has barely played this year.

And yeah, not a point guard among them.
