Agreed. While I don't see anything of note happening at the deadline, I think people who want Ainge to use all his picks in the draft so they can obsess over player development for five years while the Celtics inch their way up the standings - or bottom out, as they did in 2007 - are going to be sorely disappointed.

Zero news here.

Ainge is versatile enough to walk and chew gum at the same time. If there's an opp to 'buy low' on a player he likes, he'll take it. And the less cap clogging that opp represents, the more likely it is he'll act on it.

or maybe those guys really are as good as advertised and they have instant impacts like James, Anthony, Howard, Wade, etc. or near instant impacts like Durant, Bosh, Rose, etc.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Two words: Won't. Happen.

Ainge is going to deal some of the picks away.

And given his spotty draft record - anyone forgotten Fab Melo? J.R. Giddens? - that's exactly the way it should be.

The strategy is to get better ASAP. It isn't to draft and draft and draft.

Ainge failed miserably at it last time, and was bailed out by two GMs selling HOFers at a dime on the dollar.

He won't try it again.

There is no GM in the league who has ever hit on all of his picks. You seem to think that it's so plain and simple, which it is when you're not doing it for real.

Anyone forgetting Rondo? Sully? Bradley?
