Maybe if Rondo had hair like Mikki Moore, it would fly all around when he plays, giving the kinetic appearance of "playing hard" that some people crave.

Dos do you know what winning plays mean? Hustle plays?

Do you have to go into the stands or dive for balls? No , but if you do and buy a possession that could mean the diff between winning and losing a game. Rondo hasnt portrayed this way of playing thus far. He rarely drives to the basket , takes punishment to get a layup anymore. He could of taken two charges today but didnt

Maybe he is instructed not to. But bottom line is he could play harder

You do know that he's taken charges in a lot of the previous games since he's been back (even though a lot of them weren't called). Do you think he's at that point mentally to dive for loose balls (you know that whole thing about trusting your knee after coming back from a major injury..the mental stuff)?

It's obvious that Pressey should have started over Rondo. I mean look at Pressey's +7 and Rondo's -20. Sheez, if Phil was in there for 36 minutes tonight the Celtics would have run the Spurs clear out of the Garden!

In all seriousness, I think Rondo won't be, say...95% until April. Look at Bogans, he missed fewer games than Rondo, Stevens put him in for 11 minutes one night and the guy got so tired he emptied his locker and no one has seen him since.

When the heck was that anyway? Thanksgiving?

This post is meant to be humorous. It is February in New England, it gets dark at 3:54 pm everyday, the heating bill this month was more than what I paid for my first car and the Celtics are 7 for their last 26....levity gentlemen, levity....

To the contrary, did anyone notice how the ball was was floating off Rondo's hand when he released his shots?  His shooting touch is improving which to me only strengthens the argument for locking him up long term.

Is this thread a "good one to submit" tonight?

Just curious.
Does anyone think this is really worth posting and doing everything possible to make a valid point?
The submitter seems to be kind of on fire getting page hits and I think he only missed one grammatical error. He seems to be mentally fine right now. But it looked to me that he's content to just kind of have his thread be commented on at this point as opposed to you know trying to really make a valid criticism of our best player.
We've all seen cons have topics where he makes rational posts about everything and often those have been threads where he couldn't buy a tommy point. But tonight he's easily getting page views but seems to have little else to offer.
My sense is that he's just going along w the plan right now - we want him to get back and healthy and that's really more important than submitting good topics. But it's just frustrating - I think if he truly wanted to he could've had much more of an impact tonight and it could've at least been a lot closer in the end.

You can get a "Rasta wig" on Amazon for around 20 bucks. It seems like a small price to pay for an image makeover.

If someone gives me Rondo's home address, I will spring for it myself. I have Prime. It'll arrive in two days.

LOL So many threads of this kind popping out from "fans"

I know we all care about the team, but come on.

One little thing and we're quick to point out who did or didn't do what.

OP's insinuating that Rondo doesn't care about the team as much as PP is complete BullCrap.

That's your opinion, that's not factual.

100% agree with this.  This is just dumb.  Rondo is coming back from a major injury.

People must be really desperate to start these really awesome threads.

Just curious.
Does anyone think he was really playing very hard and doing everything he could to win the game?
He seemed to be kind of on fire hitting pull up 3 s and I think only missed one shot. He seems to be physically fine right now. But it looked to me that he's content to just kind of be back at this point as opposed to you know trying to really win the game.
We've all seen rondo have games where he dominates everything and often those have been games where he couldn't buy a jumper. But tonight he's easily hitting threes yet seems to have little else to offer.
My sense is that he's just going along w the plan right now - we want him to get back and healthy and that's really more important than winning. But it's just frustrating - I think if he truly wanted to he could've had much more of an impact tonight and it could've at least been a lot closer in the end.
I think our previous captain might have gone all out a little harder trying to carry the team to a win - even in a year that they suck. I remember they did beat San Antonio in TX in 2007 I think.

Rondo can play harder, better

Danny knows this also and is prob banking on him playing for his contract life next season.  If he doesnt you can bet rondo is traded at the latest by 2015 season trade deadline

Rondo's an established star in the league. Players like that don't play for their contract lives, players like AB or JCraw do. As to the OP, while I didn't watch the game tonight Rondo isn't even close to fine physically. He's clearly lacking mobility and explosiveness. I know that some posters are anxious to state that he's fully healthy so their criticisms won't be dismissed so easily, but if you watch some video of him pre and post injury the difference should be fairly noticeable.

No, I have no idea what that is. Does it have anything to do with The Will To Win or The Heart Of A Champion?

maybe Leaving It All On The Floor?
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

I don't know? Was he? I saw him standing on the left wing for an entire play in the fourth quarter where he didn't move for perhaps 15 seconds while the rest of the team was scraping to put up a shot. I've noticed similar things happen in previous games where he would bring the ball up, dump it off and stand around.. I'm not sure whether this is not playing hard, or Stevens' latest brilliance, but I'm pretty sure it is good offense.

I wish the team would play him very lightly for the remainder of the year. There's zero reason for him to play extended minutes this season.
