In the long run Rondo is dead, so we should prepare for that too.
TP, had a good laugh over that one.

Sure, it's always funny until it starts showing up as a justification in the "trade Rondo" threads...
well you know, as soon as Rondo looks as good as ever or even better than before, that's the next logical argument for those in the Trade Rondo Now camp  ;)

Yeah, people have short memories if they don't remember Chris Paul's underwhelming return from injury. It takes time.

A player in top condition needs weeks to get into basketball condition. This is completely different from a guy who has had limited use of his legs for months.

Look at Rose also. Rose still had a lot of explosiveness after staying out over a year, but at the point where Rondo is now, Rose refused to play because he didn't feel ready.

Don't be quick to judgment.

but wait...wait...Rondo doesn't try hard enough (see other very interesting thread).

seriously though, he seems like he is slowly knocking the rust off.  i am hoping for a full 100% return by training camp in the fall.

you don't need until trainning camp to knock the rust off.  In a few weeks after playing 30 plus minutes a game he should be back to close to full health.  In two weeks, if he can't play back to back games, maybe he will never be fully healthy again

Its something people have to be prepared for.
You have absolutely NO idea how sports injuries work.

I dont think you do.

It doesnt take close to two years to get back into game shape.

If after a big injury you cant get back to playing at peak levels within half a season, then odds are against you that you ever will

Do you have any sort of medical background to make that call?

Tell me a player after a major surgery that has comeback after one and a half to two years and played at peak levels again

I'm not the one making ridiculous medical proclamations with, seemingly, no basis.

Rondo isn't exactly crapping the bed right now, either.

So why just two more weeks on your point #1?  Why only a half a season on point #2?

Kyle Lowry
Baron Davis
Bonzi Wells
Corey Brewer
Jamal Crawford
Jason Smith
David West
Baron Davis
Al Jefferson
Al Harrington

All of these players recovered from ACLs tears at various points in their careers.

And yes it does take roughly 18 months to fully recover from ACL surgery. Similar to the recovery time from micro fracture surgery.

Some guys never come back, but the idea that Rondo is doomed if he's not back to full speed within the month is ludicrous and ignores the huge variability in recovery of the human body.

Within half a season under their belts both were playing at high levels again. It didnt take almost two years

Im not stating its definite Rondo is done or wont be able to play at peak again. But it shouldnt take until next season for him to be fully healthy.

He has been cleared to play. Took extra time off. His min has gone up. He will be able to play back to back games in a few weeks

But if he cant or if he does but plays defense the way he does now, then i would start to worry

I suggest you take a look at KG's 2009-2010 numbers and splits and compare them to 2010-2011

You can do the same with Chris Paul, the years are even the same.

Need only to look to the 2010 Finals to realize that KG was not KG.  That's without even digging into the stats and using only the eyeball test drum that's been beaten to death around here lately.

Ugh...I hate to even bring that up.  :P

what made it painful was Pau Gasol called him out after game 1 of the finals!

Chris Paul came back near the end of the season, looked terrible, then had the entire summmer/traning camp/preseason. The following season (starting months after he came back) was probably the worst of his career. Likewise, KG's play in 2010 wasn't at anything close to a high level.
