PG: Lebron James
SG: Lebron James
SF: Lebron James
PF: Lebron James
C:  Lebron James

Danny would need to trade Jeff Green for a cloning machine first.

Oh wait, we need to be realistic? That's no fun. How about this then?

Rondo
Hayward
Wiggins or Parker
Sullinger
Asik

I think that's within reason and a well-balanced team.

I don't mean this as a criticism, but I hope that we can do better.

Well sure, I hope we can do better as well. I always hope we can do better but I was keeping it realistic.

I don't think it's "realistic" to expect a Carmelo Anthony or Kevin Love type move as the percentages for that happening are likely very low.
I actually prefer that 5 to 4 of them plus Melo. Pass on Melo's contract. I'm not satisfied aiming for first round knockouts followed by blaming Melo's supporting cast for his lack of playoff success.

not my dream , but a "Fresh" start lineup

Trade deadline/off season moves

- Jeff Green traded to the Hawks for Demarr Carroll , Brand, 2014 1st pick swap option, 2014 2nd pick
- Rajon Rondo, Bass, Wallace traded to Knicks for Stoudermire, Hardaway Jr. , Shumpert, 2018 1st pick
- AB traded to Kings for Aaron Gray and 2016 1st pick

Draft pick
7th pick = Aaron Gordon
20th pick = TJ Warren
48th pick = Cory Jefferson

FA signing
Lance Stephenson = 5 years 55 million dollars

projected 2014-2015 lineup

Starting
C-Sullinger , PF- Olynyk, SF- Gordon, SG- Hardaway Jr., PG- Stephenson

Bench
Anthony, Jefferson, Stoudermire, Carroll, Warren, Johnson, Pressey

How many seasons are you trying to tank for?

As long as KO and Sully come into camp in great shape, we will make the playoffs.  If not we got nice assets to work with and in 2015 can draft a stud PF or C.

Walk me through the rondo trade coz it's the most confusing. Is it to dump Wallace for the stat contract? And are you just going to cut Shumpert?

Also, lance Stephenson is not a PG.

PG-Rondo

SG-Marcus Smart (who I actually want to see get drafted. I like that kid and like his fire. I know he's a point but they can start him at the 2 and can also back up Rondo.)
I know everyone wants to see either Parker, Embiid or Wiggins, but I just don't think the Celts will get that high of a pick.

SF-Luol Deng or Trevor Ariza (like both guys, great scorers and more consistent than Jeff Green. Both guys will be free agents this summer. Maybe work out a sign and trade deal this summer for either player involving Jeff Green and filler)

PF-Josh Smith (deal Wallace, Avery Bradley and our 2014 Brooklyn pick or 2015 Clippers pick on draft night to get Smoove.)

C-Marcin Gortat (if we can nab him with whatever cap space we have this summer, that would be awesome!)

Sullinger as your 6th man.

Dude. That team can't shoot. Like at all. That would be the worst collection of shooters to take the floor together in the entire league. Average game score 61-56

Sure, but it'd be:

Celtics: 61

Opponents: 56
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Trade Shumpert

Lance Stephenson is not a pure pg but is effective with the ball in his hands. He has several 10 plus assist games this season

I cannot put into polite words how much I disagree with this line-up.

Where I see us with our current draft pick

PG- Rondo
SG- Gary Harris (Michigan State)
SF- I'd love Heyward but I think he will be expensive.  Plan B would be Deng (if we can get him cheap or Paul Pierce.
PF- Sullinger
C- Greg Monroe

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
PG-Rondo
SG-Lance Stephenson- Let Bradley walk and sign Lance to an 11-12 million dollar offer sheet/offer.
SF-Jabari Parker- get 3rd pick and get Jabari after Orlando takes Wiggins and Philly takes Embid.
PF-Jarred Sullinger
C-Chris Bosh-declines player option and wants to be first/second option. Signs with us for 4 seasons with a team option for a 5th year @ around $18 million x 4

We'd still have plenty of picks and could gamble on high risk/upside with all our picks, or trade our current picks for future picks of more value.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

pg rondo
sg gerald henderson the younger (size at sg and range to spread floor)
sf jeff green
pf kevin love
c asik (only if trade is realistic, i wouldn't give more than bass/bradley)

Now if we end up with embiid, consider asik not on roster, likewise with wiggins/parker and jeff green

I think henderson is attainable and we need someone with outside shooting.  Love is the prize, if there is a chance he can be had gotta go for him.

Rondo
Bradley
Batum
Olynyk
Noah

Noah would be great! Reminds me of Perkins, but only a better all-around player. Ditto on Batum. I think Olynyk still needs alot of work. Very raw. Right about now if I am Ainge, I am kicking myself for not drafting Antekonoumpo.

Boy would that be great! I am a big Bosh fan (Heat jersey aside.) Unfortunately, if he doesn't stay in Miami, he'll probably go to another team like New York, Dallas, Houston, etc >:(

Sounds like Parker is the guy Ainge really wants but wont have a draft pick high enough to land him

Anyway he can trade his way up?

It's actually not necessarily the first team of players I would pick but the most realistic (I think) to what the Celts could assemble.

Trust me, I'd LOVE to see a big fish like Melo, Love or Bosh and then a top 3 pick player like Parker, Wiggins, Randle or Embiid.

I just don't think either is going to happen.

Back to my lineup, I think that's a very competitive lineup that would give Miami a heck of a matchup (IMO.)
