OK so the deal is we all say what we would do if we were Danny Ainge. List the three most important decisions and explain why. Then as a fan list 3 things you want to see from the players we will have from after said GM decisions.
1. I would label Sullinger untouchable. He has really impressed me this season. His IQ is sky high and he already has a seemingly polished low post presence. Keep this kid throughout his rookie contract and see if he can develop into that 20pt 10rb guy. I'm one of the believers that sully has the potential to be an all star in this league so i'm gonna roll the dice on him.
2. Trade Brandon Bass for the best offer. That would be expiring contracts and some low round picks. This gives me cap space for future moves possibly on draft day or in the summer. Bass is the most expendable asset right now with Sully/Olynyk's increased play and a solid veteran, who is also on an expiring contract. And yes, it will help me lose, but my current young assets have a chance to improve their stock/develop.
3. Find a deal for Bradley. He's been offered what he is worth and i'm not trying to invest heavily into an unbalanced, undersized, and injury prone SG. He is a valuable player as a sixth man but he is not a corner stone to this celtics franchise. I would love to move him with wallace in what is ultimately a salary dump. Adding these two players to a playoff bound team would strengthen their bench.
the main part of these trades are to get mid round picks and cap relief. these picks can be packaged at a later date with players or other picks for something i know i want that has become available.
Now as a fan i want to see these 3 things.
1. I want to see Sully/Olynyk go hard at the all star break. Would love for them to play well in the big spotlight and would do a wonder for their confidence.
2. With the said trades i would love to see Rondo get increased minutes seeing how our roster will be less talented we wont have to worry about winning too much. I would hope for more entertaining games though.
3. I want to see Brad Stevens get a tech. Now this probably seems as a ridiculous thing to say but i just want some emotion out of the guy. The NBA is losing its heart. Sometimes i feel like it's just a bunch of guys coming together to play a game of good ole basketball. Forget that i want to see tempers flare, players get pushed, players openly talking smack to each other like in this
