I know a trade could throw this all off but for now, assuming we keep Rondo and Sullinger.  Many of the top prospects in this draft are power forwards and point guards.  I would love to find the next Paul Peirce type player, other than Wiggins who could that be? Aron Gordon?  There is only 1 center and he will probably go 1 or 2.  So of the top 14 prospects who do you think would be the best fit for the Celtics and why?

The guy who is the best fit for the Cs is the guy who ultimately ends up being the best player. When you're talking about a potential high pick, you take the best talent. Doesn't matter who you have on your roster. Trust Danny Ainge to recognize the BPA and take him.

If Embiid is the next Hakeem, you always take the next Hakeem. If Danny thinks Parker is the best guy, take Parker. When you take picks based on fit at the top of the draft, you end up with Darko's and Marvin Williams's.

Honestly, the only guy I've seen talked about in the top 10 who doesn't seem like a great fit is Julius Randle.  His game and physical profile are so close to Sullinger that I'm not sure you could keep both.  Otherwise, just take the best guy.  And if Julius Randle is the clear cut best player remaining, take him and figure the rest out later.

Outside of the top 4-5 players, I think Willie Cauley-Stein is a good fit.   He's got the ability to be a defensive anchor in the middle, which is a role the Celtics don't have anyone filling.  Doesn't offer much offensively, but he has the potential for game altering defense.

I think I'd want to wait and see if maybe he drops to our second 1st round pick.  Cauley-Stein seems like a Larry Sanders / Deandre Jordan type to me, and while that's a nice enough player, it's not really what I'd hope to get out of a top 10 pick in a strong draft.

Embiid next to sully could be great. Exum next to Rondo appeals to me a lot too.

While Embiid and Parker are clear best fits for this team, I think that Exum would make a great 2 guard for us. He supposedly has the skills the play the 1 or the 2 at a high level, and is thought to have the talent of the guys at the top. but like the guys said above, Randle is the only clear bad fit for us. Caulie Stein is a good fit with his great defense and he is not a liability on offense even though he is nothing special there. He is just a solid player. If we get Randle though, I can see Ainge trading him on draft night. But all of this is really premature. We have not seen March Madness, and the Draft workouts are months away. Who knows how things will shape up between now and then.

You're biased towards exum tho right?  ;)

Biased is putting it lightly  ;) but I think that after a long time without a legit big 2 guard Exum's length and athleticism would be great
