We should keep Humphries

I really feel like Kris Humphries is a player that can be a nice piece on a contending team down the road.  He does the little things/the dirty work and if he really does like it here as he says - maybe we can re-sign him to a Celtic-friendly deal long-term.  He could be a super valuable player in a playoff series with his defense and rebounding. For some reason, I really like him as a player now.  What do y'all think?

Depends on the price, but ultimately I agree. Happy coming off the bench and doing the dirty work. Good rebounder, plays smart most of the time, decent range and low block defense. He's never going to be a superstar scorer or anything like that but he tends to do the things that are hard to find in the NBA.

IMHO it depends upon whether we can move Bass.

I'd gladly bring back Hump for Bass' money but it has to be one or the other and since we are obligated to Bass for next season, it's him.

solid player but depends on what he would resign for and if we still have a PF logjam.  if Danny moves both Bass and KO, then I'd definitely resign him to back up Sully

Unfortunately, his contract makes him very likely to be traded.

We could his money to lock up AB but I am not crazy about that.   His injuries resurfaced again and he is missing time again.  You could sign a a guy like Ben Gordon.  But these guys are the catches:

keep him with olynyk and bayless would be a nice bench to have next season in the playoffs

hopefully he can be signed to a way cheaper deal he might not though because he could easily make 5-8 mill next season

Not really interested in trying to do much in free agency this season.

Let Bradly pay out. I don't think the offers are going to be much more than the full mid-level exception and think we'll bring him back for that.

I wouldn't mind seeing Bayless come back but it would be for about what he is making this year, maybe slightly more, and probably be for 3 years with only the first guaranteed.

I'd make Hayward a realistic offer sheet but expect Utah to match.

And, even though we don't need a PF, I'd try to steal Ed Davis cheap but would expect Memphis to match as well.

Finally, I'd like to bring Pierce back for a final season in Green, but I think since he talked KG into accepting the trade, I don't think he leaves him behind. Now if KG decides to retire, the bringing back the Truth and adding KG to the coaching staff to work with the bigs would be something I'd love to see.

It's for these exact reasons added to the fact that he is a large expiring that he is probably our 4th most valuable trade piece after Rondo, Sully and the picks.

I like him too. But I think that he is too valuable not to be moved.

Trade him for an injured player or longer contract guy with picks added.

Knicks, Atlanta, Charlotte, Denver, the Suns, Cleveland, Houston and I'm sure a slew of other teams could use him and what he brings.

we cannot keep everybody. who do we really need to keep? rondo? sully? johnson? WHat about bayless? he gone? I expect green and bass and wallace to be gone. among others eventually.

Humphries is fine, but I'm not huge on that we have to keep him. An expiring 12 million dollar deal for a guy who actually has value is a great trade chip. I think either him or Bass has to go. If we could either get a real C or free up room to try for one next year, that would be ideal. Either way, just get Sullinger to PF where he belongs. We need some size to contest shots around the rim.
