Idea: Boston/Sacramento/Denver trade - Anthony/Fredette/Miller/Outlaw

Boston receives Travis Outlaw, a second-round pick from Denver, and removal of protection from the top-55-protected 2015 or 2017 second-round pick from Sacramento
Denver receives Joel Anthony and Jimmer Fredette
Sacramento receives Andre Miller

Boston is allowed to trade Joel Anthony so soon after acquiring him because his salary is not being aggregated with another player's salary.  They shed a bit of payroll and get some extra draft picks.  Denver gets a center to take up some of the minutes of Javale McGee, who may be out for the season, and a guard to possibly replace some of the minutes of Nate Robinson, who tore his ACL.  Sacramento gets Andre Miller, who they have wanted, while getting rid of Travis Outlaw, who Denver doesn't want to take back.

Can't really see why Denver is attracted to this deal, especially since you're asking them for a pick (not that the Cs need that pick coming in from Denver to do it).

They can likely get better for Miller at the deadline.

with so many 1st rounders coming up, it's not likely we'd use those late picks and they'd stick to the roster after camp.  as trade bait, they're second rounders so they certainly won't fetch much.  Not seeing much value.

If you're worried about a roster crunch, you can ask for Sacramento to remove the protection from their 2017 pick and ask Denver for the extra 2018 pick they are owed by Golden State.

It too two second-round picks to move up to get Olynyk.  It took a second-round pick to get Memphis to accept a salary dump of Courtney Lee.  Second-round picks are useful to facilitate trades, but are rarely something sought after as the primary value in a trade.

The Celtics would probably have to give up a second or two if Ainge wanted to trade Bass for an expiring contract or Humphries for a smaller expiring contract.

Although, I'd rather wait until after 2/10 when Quincy Acy can be moved and take Quincy Acy instead of Outlaw. His contract is not guaranteed after this year and I like him better than Outlaw as a player. The Kings could maintain the protection on the second rounder and Denver could keep their second rounder as well.

The basis for my idea is that Sacramento has been reported by the team most interested in Miller, but rumors claim that one hold-up has been the Kings insisting on sending out Travis Outlaw as part of the deal.

So, I am taking the rumor that the Kings offered Fredette and a second-round pick for Miller, adding their interest in moving Outlaw as part of the deal, then suggesting that Denver does that deal and flips Outlaw and two seconds to the Celtics for Joel Anthony.

Given the savings, the Celtics should probably be willing to do this deal without any picks, but why not try to pick up those minor assets in the deal?

If it has to be Outlaw, then I definitely need the two picks because the difference between Anthony and Outlaw is only about 800thousand and for that price I'd rather keep Anthony. He can be buried as the third-string Center. With Outlaw and Wallace, we'd have two mediocre to bad players at the same position and there is still a possibility, although extremely remote, that Anthony opts out at the end of the year.
