Boston in:
Gordon Hayward
Omer Asik
Kyle Singler

Boston out:
Keith Bogans
Jeff Green
Brandon Bass

Houston in:
Marvin Williams

Houston out:
Omer Asik

Detroit in:
Jeff Green
Brandon Bass
Richard Jefferson

Detroit out:
Josh Smith
Kyle Singler

Utah in:
Josh Smith
Charlie Villanueva
Keith Bogans

Utah out:
Richard Jefferson
Gordon Hayward
Marvin Williams

Why Boston:
We get the center we need in Asik, get Hayward to play swing (Stevens connection, replacement for Green), and Singler (could use as a backup SF in case we find a taker for Wallace).  It also gives us back 5 mil in cap space, and also helps us in the 2015 offseason to sign a free agent since Jeff's 9 mil won't be on the books.

Why Houston:
They get rid of Asik finally, and take in Marvin Williams who could be that 4 who can space the floor, and seconds as an expiring contract for flexibility.

Why Detroit:
They get away from Smith's insane contract, and get a decent SF who can space the floor and score in Green to go with Munroe/Drummond.  They get Jefferson's expiring contract, and a backup big in Bass who can also space the floor.  Although they take in an extra 3 mil, they still stay under the cap.  If this experiment doesn't work, it'll be easier to trade either Green or Bass in the future as opposed to Smith's big money and longer length of contract.

Why Utah:
Utah pairs Derrick Favors with Josh Smith as their front court of the present/future.  Charlie and Bogans function as expirings.

The trade of Charlie/RJ is for salary matching purposes.

Essentially our depth chart would become:

Rondo/Pressey
Bradley/Bayless/Johnson
Hayward/Wallace/Singler
Sullinger/Olynyk
Asik/Humphries/Faverani/Anthony

How does this sound?  Seems pretty complicated, but I think it works for everyone involved.
Play to win.  Always.

I'm fine with this. But Utah might say no.
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;

Pretty fair everyone gets a carrot.  Utah is one I think that might say no as well.

I don't think it wins a us a championship by any means though.   We would have to legit tank the rest of the year and hope for a alpha male in the draft because we don't have one on the roster.

We def wouldn't have a top 5 pick this year. Idk , I think we could trade jeff green and bass for Hayward in the offseason with no problem. IMO, if we really wanted hayward

Houston wouldn't agree to this - the knocked back offers for Bass/Lee and even a low 1st rounder for Asik (if the rumours are accurate), I don't see any scenario where they would trade Asik for Marvin Williams...

Marvin Williams I think just needs the right situation, he can score and defend and his jumpshot can space things out at the 4 for Dwight. Not to mention if it doesn't work, they let him walk at the end of the season and get 7.5 mil to help sign someone else that can fill the void since asik is no longer on the books. The other three teams can supply a mixture of draft picks that may help sweeten the pot.

As for Utah, with Hayward/Jefferson going out, smith alone won't hurt their tanking options.  They'll still get a possible top'ish pick and get a somewhat star in smith as a bonus. Burke/burks/Jabari/smith/favors isn't a bad starting line up to get their rebuild going assuming Parker falls to them.

And this trade scenario wouldn't be the end all be all for us, but it would save us 5 mil this season, not to mention the savings of relieving us of the extra years on the green and bass contracts. It could give us room to sign a superstar or help facilitate a trade to bring one in. Hayward can definitely help the rebuilding cause while not hurting our draft position.

Also, the Jazz risk letting Hayward walk in free agency after the season. I don't see that many situations where they can get the value they get in Smith locked down for the next few years by trading Hayward to anyone else.

Hayward is only a restricted free agent so IMHO the chances of Utah letting him walk are slim and none. If they do, it will be a sign and trade and it will take more than Green and Bass.

The Jazz love their young core of Burke-Burks-Hayward-Kanter-Favors and have a ton of cap space to help fill in around them. The only thing they need right now is time to develop.

Way too favorable for us.  There's no way you get Asik and Haywardd for that package.  Plus Houston isn't trading Asik for Williams in any way shape or form.  Also, I doubt Utah wants Josh Smith.  They already have Favors so it doesn't help them at all really plus they want to resign Hayward.

I don't dislike Hayward but I wonder what the threads would look like if he hadn't had one of his best 3-4 games of the year against the Celts.

I think what makes Hayward work aside from that fact he's a good player is his connection to Stevens.

However, as posted said above, I didn't know he was an RFA, so that does put a snag.

Favors works as a center, that's why I suggested Smith playing with him, moving into his more comfortable PF spot as opposed to the forced SF spot he's playing in Detroit.

I still think Williams is worth a look, however, just my opinion, perhaps with the right draft pick.
