I do the the next 3 weeks going into the deadline is very big for this franchise. It will shape up and show us where Danny really is heading with this franchise. If he wants to fully start over and trade Rondo for more pieces. IF he wants to try and build around Rondo Green Sully etc. I do believe he will make a few trades Bass Hump maybe Green. But with this draft and trade deadline. Make no mistake about it. It will be very important part of are rebuild.

I do think if no trades are made it will be a little disappointing. but I also think most of our moves will be made once the season is over, leading up to or on draft day.

but it would be nice to have some idea of what our team will look like for next season after this trade deadline.

I don't think much will happen until the draft day. Nothing "big" anyway.

I would like to see the decks cleared of Bass, Green, Hump, Bogans and Wallace at the deadline but don't expect it to happen for all of them.

Would be pretty surprised if Hump isn't moved and slightly surprised if Bogans isn't.  A nice trade asset is lost if Hump just expires after the season. Bogans is still a trade chip after the season ends so not a huge incentive to move in before the deadline.

I dont see the next three weeks as very important. It'll be the time leading up to draft day that is more important.

Unless we can get a first for Humphries I dont really see us moving him. His 12 mil expiring is probably more valuable to use than filling our cap space with the value of players we could get back for him.

If we can clear Wallace off our books that would be great but at the same time we would probably have to loose a draft pick to do so.

Green is a fine player on a decent contract. Moving him would be nice but he can also be a complimentary piece moving forward.

Bass would definitely be more valueable to a contender...However next year he is an expiring deal and might be even more valuable to hold onto for the deadline next year and possibly be packaged with Anthony's expiring.

I don't see the fascination with moving Green, but it will be interesting to see what other moves are made.

We still have the $10M trade exception to use, so I'm not sure we really need to trade Hump's expiring to take back similar salary.

Keep Hump. Try to resign him to an annual price half of what he has now, and use the trade exception if needed to take back salary in a trade (should we opt to do that).

No way he trades Rondo. RR's value cannot be any lower right now.

I don't think he wants to start over from scratch. He may eventually do that but first he'll try to add to the current core.

I'd keep Humph and try to sign him to a reasonable contract this summer...unless we get a 1 for him.

I'm on the fence with Rondo with today's reports he's testing free agency.  We cannot afford him pulling a Lebum on us.

I think if there's hardly any trades its not because Danny's not trying but that he might not have any dance partners.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I think the more telling time will be around draft night. Particularly because Rondo will have had more time to recover and show his talent, and we'll have a better idea of whether we are drafting at 6-10 or 1-5. Big difference between the two sections of the draft.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
