Much maligned #1 pick Bennett played 31 minutes and had 15 points, 8 rebounds, with just 1 turnover in the Cavs game the other night.  Is it a fluke or has he gotten healthy and turned the corner?

Let's see what he does over the next week.  Olynyk had a big game a couple weeks ago but it didn't mean that he turned the corner.

They were down 20 weren't they?

Bennett needs a chance to play and find his game.

I thought when I opened the thread that I was going to read about his solid play over a 3-5 or so game stretch. This was literally one game where he played seemingly well. Clearly it's not a fluke.

Who knows? I don't think he will show much until he has a competent coach and a set spot in the rotation.

Yeah, Bennett just needs to play.

That Cavs team is quickly falling and is a mess.

They just need to give him consistent minutes and a real coach.

I think he is going to take all of Earl Clark's backup PF minutes.  So I expect him to get regular minutes going forward.

He looked pretty good physically, which is something he definitely did not look early in the year.

I think its a bit premature to say hes turned the corner...Its the only game he's played this year over 30 minutes and has had 6 DNPs and one game of 5 minutes in the 7 previous games.

How's his weight looking now as opposed to earlier in the season?

I saw him live back in December and he didn't exactly look like an in shape basketball player. He actually looked pretty bad. He was also pretty much a non-factor.

another respectable game for Bennett.  14 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals with 2 turnovers and 4 fouls in 22 minutes.  Not shooting great yet, but playing fairly solid defense and seems to be in much better shape now than at the beginning of the year.

He needs a real coach/team, a full offseason of conditioning, and to play at PF, his real position, before he can be judged.

Now if he can just play like this when his team isn't down 20!

Or if he isn't playing a team with 6 men in the second half when he got it "going".

Edit: Are you going to post in this thread every time he gets a GMscore above 10?

Yeah he could bounce back if he gets into shape, right now its clear his body is holding him back.

imagine what Sullinger could do if he was committed to getting in shape.
Sullinger has better hands and a better BB IQ by far.

Brandon Bass 2.0 will be an okay player once he gets in reasonable shape.
