With the 4th pick of the 2014 NBA draft, the Boston Celtics select...

(assuming, Parker, Embiid, and Wiggins are already gone), who would YOU like to pick at #4

I am still very high on Marcus Smart

DA will just take best available... this team will look nothing like the roster set now... I would even say there is a 50% change he will trade that pick

if we draft Parker, Green is gone

Yeah, green would have to go. Parker should be slotted into his small forward position. He isn't fast enough to play 2 guard.

Also the team still wouldn't have a center, unless green could be flipped for someone like asik.

In terms of depth, things should continue to thin out next year. Humphries is as good as gone. Sullinger is the future at power forward. Olynyk might be his backup. Bass might still be on the team making more money than a backup 4 should get.

Bradley might be gone too. There is no way the celtics should pay him 8 million per year. He has too many limitations for a starting guard on a contender. I like him at 5 million per year, as a starter for now, and a combo guard off the bench when the celtics are a playoff team again.

Bayless might jump ship too, as Danny ainge should keep the payroll flexible towards getting the next superstar. Meanwhile i dont think Pressey belongs in the nba.

The celtics might not be much better next year. Acquiring a good center would speed things up. It will be very interesting to see how ainge plays his valuable cards over the next couple seasons.

I can see Bradley jumping ship if he doesn't get his desired salary, but I see Bayless staying for some odd reason.

I believe - if we draft Parker - Green is gone, we save 9 mil/season

if we draft Smart - Bradley is gone (also saving us money)

As for center, if we draft any of those two above (mainly, Parker), we can definitely ship Green to Houston for Asik and fillers.

Rondo/Bradley?(Bayless?)/Parker/Sully/Asik

not a playoff/contending team, but probably a piece away from playoff

So we're probably still looking at lotto or maybe even 11-15 range for 2015 draft.

But always a big if, if the player we draft from the lotto this year, will be a perennial all-star/superstar

I'd say Exum or Smart in that spot.  It would be hard to pass up Randle, but if we draft Randle I feel like a trade would be forthcoming . . . hard to see how Randle and Sullinger could fit together.

+1 to all of that (especially the Bradley part)

If we are 'stuck' with the 4th prick why not go for say...Randle, whom we then shop with Green and Bass and Bogans for a top tier superstar? Would it get us say... Anthony Davis or am I shooting too high?

IMHO you are shooting way too high!

I'm not sure what we can get for the #4, I would expect New Orleans would want the #4, Sullinger, and probably two more firsts and still that's probably not nearly enough  and I don't think they move him.

He may be the most untouchable player in the NBA when you factor in his production, age, current salary, years to unrestricted free agency, etc.

I would like to be wrong here though. I would love to see him in Green ;D

I'm taking Randle at 4 and Glen Ronbinson at 20.  My opinion only....

If we got Jabari, I would want to try and trade for a defensive minded center then use our picks to improve every year through the draft.

If we get the fourth pick I think Exum (I changed my mind from Smart). Exum is very good at creating his own shot and shots for others, that is something this team sorely lacks. At 18-20 I would go after PJ Hairston, Grant, McDermott or Herrel, whoever is available.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Parker plus Love Equals

Return of Celtics,

probably still 2 years away from that. I don't believe Jabari will have a franchise changing season during his rookie year. Though they will make some noise in the first season

Rondo/Parker/Love. Still need a defensive center

So for Parker and Love, we're basically gonna have to A. get a low draft from our crap season. Once you choose Parker, Green has got to go. Package him, Bass, Sullinger, and probably 2-3 first rounders to get it done.

If we can keep Bradley - perfect, if we can't then he has to be included as well. Love himself is a great piece for the future and great go-to-guy

If that does happen, the funny thing is, we still have a lot of 1st rounders left :)
