It still doesn't seem right, seeing him in that Brooklyn jersey.

I've come to grips with the trade, but I miss the guy.  I'm hoping he'll remain a part of the organization after he retires.  The guy knew what it meant to be a Celtic, and still seems to get it.

I'm loving it that the crowd is actively cheering for KG and Pierce as if they're still playing for us.

Really wishing that KG and Pierce win it all this year. They more than deserve it.

I'd really bet the house Pierce is back on the Celtics next year.  I think it's inevitable.

I'm 30 years old and I live in Portugal. I never been to the United States and I only watched an NBA game live once, the exhibition game the Celtics played in Rome against the Raptors in 2007.
I never watched Bird play, or McHale or Parish. I love the NBA and I love the Celtics. Because all of that, Paul Pierce is the most significant player of my lifetime.

  • Be the posts you wish to see in the world.
I wish Pierce was in Boston, but oddly it doesn't bother me at all seeing he and KG in different uniforms.  Guess I really am rooting for laundry.

I never understood why we called time outs in late game situations after an opponent miss when our "play" would just be a clear out for Paul.

I wouldn't. The Nets are so far over the cap that they should be willing to offer to overpay Pierce using his Bird rights to avoid losing a level of talent that a team deep in the luxury tax would have a hard time replacing.

You give Pierce a bit of extra rest.  Maybe you draw up a play where you have someone cut to the basket and see if you can catch the other team sleeping, but you don't force anything and if nothing is available, you default to Pierce.

How weird would it be if Paul Pierce hit a game winner? The Garden would go nuts....for the other team lol

Strange situation. Is it bad that I want to see it happen?

Tell ya a different way to look at it:
I saw covens slow down, age etc
Watched Mchale destroy his ankle, feet and become a lesser player
And sadly watched the most dominating all around basketball player I've seen mr bird become a near cripple while playing for the celtics.

I hope Paul has a good nonceltic career (till he comes back ) but there were times last year that it was really noticeable Paul had lost a step or two

I miss him too.

I feel dirty watching him in a non Celtic uniform playing in this arena.

I don't really miss the Paul Pierce iso, though.

...Except it worked nearly every time, because Paul Pierce with the game on the line is pretty much automatic.
