  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
I can't and won't blame Bradley for Green being a wuss. Nobody is limiting Green's shot attempts, but himself. He's never been a consistently aggressive or assertive player. His shot was falling tonight and he just kept shooting. Most nights he won't shoot like this and most nights he won't look for his shot aggressively.

In all seriousness, I reveled in his game tonight. So many big shots taken and made.

But, performances like these are a double-edged sword. Green made it look so easy tonight, and it begs the question why he can't play this way--with such unbridled confidence--more often.

Tommy made an interesting point after the game which sounded like a semi-plausible explanation.

I'm paraphrasing here, can't remember his exact words, but he said something to the effect of : Green stepped up because so many people were out, implying that Green deferred too often to Bradley, Crawford, Lee et al

Makes me think of Bradley as more of chucker in the Crawford mold than I thought , which many people have already said on this board.

+1 to paid the cost  for posting similar as  I typed S-L-O-W-L-Y
It made sense to want to defer to Pierce and KG.  As Manup just said, Green is a wuss if he feels the need to defer to Crawford, Bradley and Lee.

Great performance.  As long as he plays this way he should continue to boost his stock.  Maybe we could package him to get a top 5 pick in this year's draft!

Green plus picks for Wiggins or Parker?  I'd do it.

It's interesting, some of the same people who [dang] Jeff Green for deferring to his teammates are the same people who [dang] Avery Bradley for being selfish.

That is the same thing or consistent anyway....no? I have a scarily short attention span (thank you internets...you series of tubes you!! ;D) If somebody is p---ed about one of the 2 they SHOULD be p---ed about the other...right? If I misread just leave me be in my A.D.H.D misery ;)

On another note folks have been saying we are short handed. I think we were long handed or whatever. Too many folks. This was a unplanned tightening of the rotation and it worked for 1 night.

Ludicrous suggestion, but if Green's problem is that he is too socialized into deferring to operate at his optimum consistently, would packing him off the D League for a month help?

It is difficult to watch (I didn't, but have) because he could be so dominant. He would be a perfect piece on a championship team. Can win you a couple big playoff games... but is generally option 3 or 4. At any rate, if there are teams looking for someone that fits his mold, we could potentially haul in something useful.

Edit: 3rd option, potentially 2nd if he is on a fast-paced team against a 2nd unit (specifier there)

Btw, who is Chris Johnson? I do not know this individual, nor why he is shooting 6 threes tonight. Is he just someone to pawn off or cut, or do you all this he's a legitimate prospect?

I'm one for entertainment. I'd so much rather have Nate Robinson out there than these jamokes. He's fun and, I'd argue, gives us a better chance to win than any other bum on the team.

And finally, shout out to Hump and Sully for continuing to do work. Hump sucks at bball but is great at being a professional athlete. Sully sucks at defending within the restrictions of the rules, but plays way beyond the limitations of his height.

What happened to Pressey? Must've been on ephedrine or something. Surprised he took those shots, let alone made them.

As I've said before, Bradley has been shooting up around 45% on FG and 40% from three pretty much all season long.  Those are very good shooting percentages for a guard...a he'll of a lot better than you get from Gordon Hayward, whom everybody here seems obsessed with.

People bag out Bradley  skitsitting but he has to, because nobody else will!

I could see Wiggins being a more athletic, 2nd coming of Green.

Nate Robinson costs a lot more money. Not a realistic alternative.

Exactly. If Bradley hadn't been shooting, it is possible Sully and Craw would have been taking all our shots since both of those guys like to shoot.

Bradley is at 36.2% from three, 46% from two, and 44% overall on FG's, but all three of those are improvements over last year.  Green however is the best 3 point shooter on the team (of anyone with at least 10 attempts), but is worse from 2 point range than Bradley.  Bradley has the most attempts per game on the team, but it just 0.6 more than Green.  Green gets to the line a lot more and thus averages more points.

The simple truth is, Bradley has almost nothing to do with Green's shooting or lack thereof.  Green is just a consistently inconsistent player and he always has been.  He will have monster games and then he disappears, which wouldn't be terrible if he actually was rebounding and passing on the days he wasn't scoring (that is what Rondo does so well, even on his terrible shooting nights he still is in the game in the other areas).  Green doesn't do anything above average with any sort of regularity, which is why he will always be a 4th option type player.  A good glue guy that can step up every so often, but who mostly just goes through the motions.

Love it. Trade him now before he follows it up with 11 and 4.

He has the potential, and he deserves to put up these numbers on a nightly basis. I wish he would capitalize on his talent and put this effort out everytime he steps onto the court. I'm a big fan of Green but [dang], that man is frustrating.

this is no different than the last 2 years with the team. remember he dropped 45 on Miami last year.

but then he'll go back into his shell and post 10ppg on 5 shots. hes a frustrating player as one of your main guys.

but, if he's 3rd or 4th fiddle I think he would fit in just fine. I thought he looked good last year when he was #3 to Pierce/Garnett
