Calm down, guise... Rondo transforms into a Superstar in the playoffs.

No but really he'll be fine.  He's a solid player.  Top 50 PG for sure.

You're giving him too much credit per usual LB.

Top 50 IF we include all the DLeague guards on every roster.

Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

He's got no explosiveness yet and his timing is off.  If they were trying to win games he wouldn't be playing as much as he is.  If he gets minutes and doesn't get hurt, he's doing plenty.

It was a jump to conclusions mat!

What will be interesting is how he plays without good catch and shoot guys (KG, Pierce, Allen, Jet, etc.).  Much was made about Rondo's passing ability, but these players allowed Rondo the spacing needed to create. Our spacing has looked awful when Rondo's in there. Crawford had his issues, and I'm not saying he's better than Rondo by any means, but he did have range and created good spacing for teammates.

And that's the point I am trying to make.

wouldn't have had to worry about being down 4 if they weren't bricking shots in the 1st quarter and fumbling passes in the first half.

having said that, I agree that he should have made the FTs, at least 1.  that was disappointing.

If only Rondo had come back from a brutal ACL injury and miraculously become a better free throw shooter :P

Rondo needs to be on a team full of talent. Not the Celtics team right now

i swear to god. People on this forum would want to trade Durant after 1 bad night if we had him.......

Didnt drop 30... TRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The guy is coming back from an ACL tear and getting into the rhythm of the game again. You can tell he isnt his normal self out there. Probably wont be till close to the end of the season. Rose by Rose's standard was hideous when he came back and he is a former MVP.

give it time.

You will definitely be frustrated if you expect 20 points, 10 assists, zero turnovers and 80% FGP in any player's second game since returning from an ACL injury.
I moved the cheese.

Is it possible that taking a year off, having major surgery, playing a season high in minutes in your 3rd game back - giving max effort against the one team in the league you'd like to beat the most - is it possible that all of that could leave a player with tired legs at the end of a game? And that having tired legs hurts your free throw shooting?

Someone help me out here. I mean, it could go either way, right?

This is Celtics Blog c'mon now you know people don't like to think to rational...I mean who would think that Rondo would have a bad game after being his 3rd game and pretty much having his preseason right now.

I want/need for him to make the critical free throws, but I'm more interested in seeing how he responds to this game.

this is why i thought it would be great for Rondo to get some burn in the D-League.  Presumably he'd dominate the d-league... it would have kept the illusion of him being a star alive and kept his trade value up.

I've always been concerned that Rondo might get exposed in the post Big-3 era.  He's a solid, but flawed player.  We still have about 13 games left to showcase him before the trade deadline, though.

Ah, yes.  Now I see.

Thanks for clearing that up, gpap.

I was confused too.

Now I see the light.

Should I follow the light...?
