I don't think he will ever be as good as the Matrix in his prime, but after watching my sixth Kansas game, Wiggins is a great on the glass, runs very well, good defender, average finisher, solid shooter.

I would defintely  select Embid ahead of him, Marcus Smart for sure, Parker for sure, Exum for sure, And Randle I like better overall. But if i needed a SF I'd take Wiggins.

He would be no higher than fifth on my draft board IMO.

More explosive athletically than Shawn Marion.  I compare to slightly better Rudy Gay.  He will be a star, but not the best player in the NBA.

Agreed with Embiid ahead of him.  He's 3rd on my board.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Funny I thought of Aaron Gordon as a Marion type.

Yeah this for me is a lot more accurate.

Not even Rudy Gay scorer yet. Matrix in his prime was a 22 ppg and 12 Rpg. I think Wiggins could avg. 9-10 RPG I don't think he will ever average 20 PPG though.

The Gordon and Matrix comparison is fair. Just wanted to make a point with Wiggins that he's not the dynamic offensive weapon that so many thought when we heard all this best prospect since Durant Hype. Not even the best prospect in this draft. Silly scouts.

I'd avoid trying too hard to make comparisons between Wiggins and current NBA players.  He's still very young.  You don't get this many scouts saying a guy is going to be THAT good and have the guy end up being just pretty good (e.g. Rudy Gay).  That sometimes happens with big men, but with a wing player ... I'm going to trust the scouts that he's the real deal.

Still, I'd probably want to take Parker and maybe Embiid ahead of him.

I've said all along, though -- if we get one of the top 5-6 picks, we're going to be in good shape.  A really nice group of talent at the top this year.

Wiggins' main weakness, according to all the scouting reports I heard and saw before he hit college, was that he didn't have a strong jump shot. That, to me, implies that he's not going to be a "dynamic offensive weapon" in the Kevin Durant mold.

"Best prospect since Kevin Durant" does not mean "as talented a scorer as Kevin Durant." If you thought otherwise, that's on you.

Dude DOS what are you talking about. I never said scorer. Let me ask you this does he look like to you the best prospect since Durant??? Like I said Parker and Embid are easily better prospects this year.

Parker has scared me with his recent slump.

Doesn't know how to impact the game except when he's scoring.

Also Marion had a much better Freshman year than Wiggins. I will go on record now and say Wiggins will never be as good as Matrix in his prime.

GP   MPG   PPG   FG%   3FG%   FT%   APG   RPG   BPG   SPG
1998-99   29   32.9   18.7   52.9   29.9   73.0   1.2   9.3   1.9   2.5

 Wiggins 15.2 ppg 6.1 Rpg 1.4 asst .439 FG% .328% 3pointers

Not impressive at all Wiggins. Admit it he's not as good as advertised.

I know a lot of people are down on him, but the kid had a 20 rebound game a few games ago. He has a lot of natural talent , and we saw his competitiveness come out against Parker , and his ability to make clutch plays on both sides of the ball.

Yes he has been inconsistent , but he is still only 20 games into his collegiate career ,and he has a lot of talented scorers around him on that Kansas team that he has to share the ball with .

He would greatly benefit from playing with a PG like Rondo.

His motor does concern me a bit, but we will see how he reacts in big spots in the tournament ..

My top 10 as of right now

1)Embid
2)Parker
3)Wiggins
4)Randle
5)Exum
6)Smart
7)Vonleh
8)Hood
9)Gordon
10)Cauley-Stein
