So with the new report about the celtics wanting to trade Jeff Green next who are our realistic trade targets?  I'm sure the majority of this forum don't want to hear it but I believe this is the time to grab Melo. It will set aside every indication of tanking and start to put this franchise back in talks of reaching the top. Say what you want about Melo but the man is one of if not the best scorer in the league and this is without an all star caliber PG that he has never had who would set him up for success and teach him how to win since that's what everyone says he can't do.  We have what it takes to get it done..The draft picks and expiring deals to go along with it and instead of everyone dreaming of what we want jeff green to be including myself why don't we just go out and grab that elite scorer or the second coming of Paul pierce and just bring in the man Carmelo Anthony.. We get him and rondo to sign deals to finish out there career in Boston allowing us to put the chips around them and go for it!

With that being said obviously you know my trade target but I want to hear yours

With the Lakers sucking right along with us and freeing up space it's possible we could be bumping into them in the lottery and FA which would suck. Love? L.A.? If they hadn't resigned Kobe I'd think Carmelo could go to but I don't know their cap details. It sucks to suck when the Lakers suck.

Given the "report", it seems the only realistic Jeff Green target right now is the hoop.

Well not saying we can get of these guys straight up for Green, but he could be part of a package.

Asik
Hayward
Monroe (Drummond if Pistons get silly)
Noah (is Chicago in rebuild?)

Green for Monroe is interesting.
What kind of contract is he looking for?

How about Green and Bass for Perry Jones, Jeremy Lamb, and Hasheem Thabeet?  (Perkins as filler)

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lf23cg7

Get some young, cheap players and next year Perkins will be a nice expiring contract to have.

How about we just waive Green?

Depends on how much you like Lamb and Jones, I guess not much.

How about this.

Green/Wallace/Pressey to Kings for:

McLemore
Derrick Williams
Marcus Thornton
Jimmer

Thornton and Williams have one less year on their deals than Green and Wallace.  Let Jimmer walk.  At least get McLemore for Green.

Tell me about it.

As for Jay's proposal, it would sound better if McLemore had shown any sign at all that can live up to his potential.  I don't think I make that trade until I see some signs from McLemore.

That's a bit drastic. But I do think Ainge should threaten Green he'll send him home, just like Bogans. That'll motivate Green to put up bigger numbers so that we might at least get a 2nd rounder for him.
Celtics fan for life.

I think something like Green for Alex Len and the Indiana 1st would make sense for both teams.  Boston picks up a nice young center and another 1st and Phoenix gets a solid SF to help with their run this year without giving up any rotation pieces.  Also, because Phoenix is under the cap Boston gets another trade exception, this one at around 5.2 million.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I've said it many times. Charlotte makes tons of sense for Green AND Bass. Just take back expirings and either MKG and Jeff Taylor (whichever they'll give up) back.

I azgree I would like to see more out of McLemore, but maybe its a good time to buy low on him.  I always envision a 3 guard rotation similar to the old Pistons teams with Thomas, Dumars, and Microwave.  We have Rondo and Bradley, just need that 3rd guy.  Crawford wasnt it.  Maybe Bayless will, maybe McLemore could be.

Besides getting lucky and landing a center, small forward has the best chance to get an immediate impact guy in the draft.  Clearing out Green and Wallace would open a spot for a small forward to come in.  Derrick Williams and Marcus Thornton would have to play there to finish out this season.

I agree thats a good one.  Getting someone to take Wallace is a little harder, but worth looking at.
