I would not do this. Green is just as good on D as Asik is, but he's far superior on O.
I'd rather pay $9M for Green than $7M for Asik any day of the week. In fact I'd rather draft a starting center than waste such a silly amount of money on a role player with a bad attitude.
Well Asik may be limited offensively but with Rondo he'll be as good as he's going to be- They're a good match together.
Green's an okay player, but as someone mentioned earlier he's a jack of all trades and a master of none. He's not a championship piece unless he's coming off the bench or starting next to Rondo, Carmelo and a Gasol type as the 4th option.
And it's hard to justify that fourth option being paid 9 million when Ray Allen and Rondo were on similar deals on championship contenders.
Move Green for Asik, get a top 5 defensive/rebounding big in the NBA and now you've saved 2 million cap room, whilst clearing space for an elite top 5/10 player at the small forward position.
In the mean time, you've solidified our draft position by losing a few more games with no wing scorer of any kind.
Win win.
