guava_wrench to me your the one cherry picking. Teams winning by trading and getting FA's are not the norm. And if these teams did in the past, they usually had to have assets to get them. That means lottery bound draft picks
I believe that Ainge thinks that the new CBA has changed how to go about constructing a roster. If so, I agree with him and don't think the Celtics should be fixated on trying methods that have worked for other teams in the past. I think the next Celtics championship contender is more likely to look like an ensemble resembling the 2004 Pistons than a top-heavy, star-laden team like the current Heat.
