I love it,” he said. “I love going into Boston. I love playing there. I mean, the fans are incredible, because, you know, they’re nasty, but they appreciate the game. They appreciate good basketball. They appreciate players who go out there and just leave it all on the court. You know, friend or foe, they have an appreciation for it.

“I’m really looking forward to it. I’m going to interact a little bit with the crowd, absolutely. I’ll have a chance to kind of look around and look at the numbers in the rafters and kind of appreciate it a little bit more. Absolutely, because when you play, you know, you’ve got your blinders on. You’ve got tunnel vision. This will be good.”

I got a lot of respect for Kobe Bryant. He's a huge Rondo fan for the reasons I am and ironically it's the same reasons a lot of folks don't like him.(Rondo)

When K.G., P.P., Bryant and Duncan are gone the league will be different in the way it was when Larry,Magic and a bit after Jordan left. If you go tomorrow and catch a glimpse of Kobe you're looking at one of the hungriest athletes of our generation. He really believed he could match and beat Jordan ring for ring and then some. He's a Baller. All the rivalry and Shaq and other stuff is human drama. On the court the dude was legend.

I watched him after the Lakers beat us in 2010 and he was as classy as they come.  Show some respect to a legend tomorrow ...and don't throw bricks at the bus and try to flip it like after we stomped them in 2008 ;D

Can't argue with that. I used to hate the guy but I've got nothing but respect for him at this stage of his career.

Kobe actually sat in a class at Boston College last night. Can't find the link.

i used to hate Kobe, but ive actually grown to really like him in the past few years.

one of the last true "competitors" in the NBA IMO. in this age when everyone wants to be "friends" kobe just wants to go out there and destroy his opponent.

I've never and wouldn't admit it to my two Laker friends (and I probably won't until he retires) but I have mad respect for Kobe.  A real Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. in real life (according to a lot of people who has work with him over the years) but his respect for the game of basketball is epic.  And he's a fan of Rondo (my favorite player in the league)

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would

look, ive come to respect kobe as a player as much as the next guy. but that video...that video right there is why I question a lot of C's fans.

kobe could have stopped a nuclear missle from exploding before that game & I would never chant his name or "mvp".

It was probably almost all Laker fans.  A lot of Laker fans will show up to the Garden for a Celtics Lakers game.  I went to the one last year with all the Nash/Howard/Kobe optimism still alive and there were a lot of Lakers fans.

I had a bad feeling going in when I saw it and ended up sitting right next to one of the clowns.

I can't watch the video now but is it actually celtics fans or Lakers fans?

I always thought that the stadium was fairly empty at that point and assumed it was Lakers fans chanting. They always draw a good crowd at home games.

In any case Lakers fans and a handful of possible "celtics" fans chanting it doesn't really bother me.  I mean, there's people on this forum I could see doing that or don't consider real or knowledgeable fans.

yeah, but that was the only time I can ever remember hearing anything chanted in boston that was "pro lakers".

You're probably right, but that's also the worst stretch in the history of the franchise.  Not that surprising it'd happen then.
