overpaid, yes.  wildly, that's a bit of a stretch.

This is exactly how I feel.  Maybe a tad overpaid.  But wildly?  I don't think so.

am i the only one who would much rather have Thaddeus Young at his $8,850,000/$9,410,869/$9,971,739 over this year and the next 2 then Green and his $8,700,000/$9,200,000/$9,200,000 over this year and the next 2?

No, I really like Thaddeus Young. He's a great example of a dude who really plays bigger than he is.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

It's silly to compare "market value" for a player, comparing him to other players comparable in stats at his position, without considering context. If you don't take salary cap, quality of team, the individual's fit for the team, etc. in mind, it's not very useful to compare.

You feel bad about the money Green is making?

Go take a look at the Brooklyn Nets roster and look at Joe Johnson's stats for this season.  He's up around 16 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists.  His shooting percentages are right up there with Green.

He's getting paid over $20M.

Feel better now?

What? My first thought was "now overwheight and overpaid Felton is taking shots at our players?" but then I reacted and read "Pelton". As an ESPN "expert", he can say whatever he wants, they're great at comedy.

Bass and Green are basically paid their market value. If Green (still hoping) finds the way to contribute more, he'll be a bargain. Now, he's paid fairly well.

Their trade value, though, isn't a direct correlation to their salary status as overpaid/underpaid. Also have to consider contract's length, and team needs. Right now, the Cs are in rebuild mode, so they won't be hurried to make any trade. You can tell they'll get better deals than when they needed help for the Big 4.

You can also look at Omer-Wilt-Kareem Asik. He'll get 15M next season and he's rotting in Houston, collecting "DNP-genius backloaded contract" game after game.

Can't stand Jeff Green. I really can't. That being said, I don't want to buddy him up with somebody just to trade him and make a lateral move. I'd rather just keep him unless we can get something of REAL value for him... which is unlikely.
