As some have commented, the Celtics don't need to get rid of him. They've already paid to get under the tax (money in the Fab Melo trade, and a 2nd rounder in the Courtney Lee trade) and to get some financial flexibility.
Gerald's contract is terrible, but if he can play like he did last night, I don't mind him on the team. He tries hard on the court, and even if he complains, he always talks about team and effort, and that's always a good thing.
Of course I'd love to see the BOS-CHI-NYK three-way trade with Boozer and Wallace going to NYK, Hump and Bogans to CHI, and Amare+Shumpert+CHA pick from CHI going to the Celtics. Maybe with Rondo back, we can showcase Crash to make NYK bite.
