What would be the harm in letting him stay and try and sign and trade him in off-season?

Nobody wanting him, or it putting a hold on other things we want to do?

I imagine there's some team out there that might offer a 2nd round pick and an expiring veteran for J-Craw.
Attach him to a bigger deal, and things change, but by himself, that's pretty much a reasonable expectation right there.  Expecting more would be delusion.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Jordan Crawford for Harrison Barnes.

Would be the steal of the century.

Just like J-Craw's trick-or-treat play style, I would love-hate to see J-Craw leave.

But, by golly, if we manage to get a halfway decent asset, it'd be a steal. We basically gave up Jason Collins for this guy.

I think we'll have to give up more than Crawford for Barnes. But I would not mind giving the Dubs two future first round picks.

Like I said before (i'm not reporting anything, I just think it makes sense after watching almost all Warriors games), Barnes looks like the odd man out in Golden State.

David Lee is playing great and I don't think they mind that big contract anymore because of what he's putting out production wise. Also, even though the numbers are not as impressive, Draymond Green is playing well. He can be the Igoudala backup moving forward, as the Dubs wont pay him as much as Barnes would cost. Barnes is also suffering from a really bad sophomore slump, maybe because of his new role as a reserve, so his stock should not be as high as last year's.

I'd start with Crawford, the Clips pick and a future pick of our own.

Any team interested in Crawford is probably offering an overall package that is less valuable than a late first-round pick.

...
I like him but I do worry that he is another Jeff Green.  He doesn't have the ALPHA dog mentality that a lot of the great ones do.
...
My exact take on Barnes too.  Different game than Green's but similar mentality.  I'd take him in a steal, but would not give up all that much for him.  He's still good value on a rookie deal.  Problem is, he'll want a Green-like contract.

I think Thunder.

Crawford for a TE.  (That was the point of the Gomes trade, make room under the tax line to pick up another G)

If they want, throw is Fishers 1 year vet min along with the TE.

Celtics should get a draft pick back in return.  (very late 1st or a 2nd)

That is a great point about the Gomes trade.  Now I am convinced this was pre-arranged.

Happy to see Crawford leave town. When he is hot he is fun to watch and easy to root for... But that hot streak comes in short short bursts. When he is playing his regular game he is the most frustrating player in the league.
