Smells fishy. How could the Clips be involved at all if we can't trade with them until after this season? ??? I have a feeling this guy has the same sources as Broussard. ::)

Yeah, Vecsey used to be really interesting to read, and probably had some good sources at one point.  Now, though, he routinely just makes stuff up.

As you said, LAC can't possibly be involved.

I was under the impression we were only prevented from dealing KG to the Clips.  Other trades would be allowed.  Particularly now, that KG was moved to a different team.

Not certain about this though.  Tried not to pay to much attention to the whole saga.

Moving Crawford now is the best time to move him.  I'll be interested to see how good the returning player/asset Danny gets.

We're not allowed to trade with the Clippers for a full year.

No, it's anybody on our roster.  Though I wonder if there's any kind of loophole for a 3-way transaction or something like that.  Knowing Stern, probably not.

I'd gladly do Crawford for Donatas Motiejunas + 2014 2nd rounder.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=l3hv47p

Saves us some money, D-Mo is only 23, former 20th pick, more or less in the Big Z mold.

interesting and expected.

so if the following teams are interested here are my ideas
BK, Clips, Suns, Rockets, Warriors

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lf3mqz3

Cs get Asik
Rockets get Frye, crawford
Suns get Bogans (move to clear space), Motiejunas

Its actually really hard to find deals that make sence with Nets (no one young or expiring), Clipper (same as nets and league wont allow deal) or Warriors (cant believe they will move Barnes and they have already traded 2014 and 2017 picks to Utah)

Long Shot that I still cant see the Warriors even thinking about.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=kbcpzf7

Cs Get Barnes and Douglas

Warriors get Crawford, KO, Nets 2014 and clippers 2015

Mavs
Wiz
Hornet

While I think vescey is a moron, I don't see any reason why he would make of rumors about Crawford of all people, I have to believe there is truth to this. Can't trade with the clips though...

I would be happy just getting a 2nd rd pick and expiring for him.

I don't know I didn't like Vescey for a long time due to his outrageous rumors, but he has toned it down, and actually given accurate information.

I would love to get a first round pick for him, maybe the Suns wouldn't mind giving us one and maybe another player in return?

First deal: Phoenix is actually trying to contend this year, so they'll need a legitimate return (i.e. players that can help sooner rather than later).

Second deal: You think the Warriors would be the one to turn that down?  I think it'd be Boston that immediately says no.  Golden State would turn Barnes into another prospect and two first rounders - that's a crazy haul.  Barnes is good, but I don't think he's that good.  That's essentially the package the Thunder received in the James Harden trade: an expiring (Martin/Crawford), a prospect (Lamb/Olynyk), and two first rounders.  I think everyone would agree that Barnes' value is nowhere near Harden's at the time the latter was traded; remember, he was coming off a season where he averaged 16.8 points and had just won Sixth Man of the Year.

No one outside of a team like the Spurs or Miami (i.e. a team that will more than likely finish with a top 5 league record) would even consider surrendering a first-round pick in this year's draft for Crawford.  He's a streaky combo guard with an expiring contract - not the guy you compromise your future for.  At best, I see a second-round pick for him.  If he's packaged with another player or asset, then possibly a prospect who can't get any playing time on another team.

EDIT: to remove bad information.

I am more than happy to move Crawford for something.  Barnes would be great, but I'm not sure what else would have to go Golden State's way because they aren't trading Barnes for Crawford straight up.

I thought Boston and LA just couldn't make a trade involving PP and KG, not that they couldn't make a trade.

Nope, can't do any deals:

LAC: Isn't happening as has been discussed

Golden State:There is no way the Golden State trades Harrison Barnes for Crawford unless we throw in a pick or probably multiple picks. Maybe if they liked Olynyk we could do those two and a pick and they give us Jermaine O'Neil's expiring contract. They have a bunch of trade exceptions they could just absorb him for a future pick.

Phoenix: They have four picks in the draft next year and cap space, so we could easily trade Crawford for cap space

Houston: rumor was they were trying to move Monti, maybe we do that deal.

DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

The thing I don't like about acquiring D-Mo is that it's just a silly idea unless they plan on moving one of Sullinger, Olynyk, or Faverani.  He's very much so a player in the mold of Olynyk: 7 footer who plays more like a power forward, but can be slotted in at center.  Doesn't make much sense to have all four players.

I think Thunder.

Crawford for a TE.  (That was the point of the Gomes trade, make room under the tax line to pick up another G)

If they want, throw is Fishers 1 year vet min along with the TE.

Celtics should get a draft pick back in return.  (very late 1st or a 2nd)
