“You’re sitting, only playing 17 or 18 minutes a game,” Wallace said. “You’re watching, you know you can still play, and you watch guys in front of you who don’t play with effort, don’t respect the game and don’t think team first. It kind of frustrates you and (ticks) you off. You have to deal with it.”

Yes another Gerald Wallace complaining thread, but I wonder who he's talking about here  >:( :D

::) Again?!?

Not sure if this is his attempt at some reverse psychology or he is the growing tumor on a team that could really use some positive veteran presence in the locker room.

Reduced minutes or not, Wallace hasn't done a single thing to prove he deserves to be a starter or earn even half that ridiculous contract of his so far.

If you told me at the start of this season Gerald Wallace would be a bigger annoyance than Jordan Crawford,

He's probably talking about Green who plays his position. I was fine with what Wallace said the first time b.c at the time it was true... I just think he is saying it too often. We need a jolt every now and then and the other two times he has said something we have played better (haven't won but we definitely played better). He does play hard when he is out there even it hasn't been good play. Sometimes I want to yell at Green "wake the heck up!" but I'm starting to think he plays hard but he comes across as nonchalant, he did have 3 10+rb games in a row until someone showed that he has spells like that and that the 4th game he doesn't show up which proved to be true, 6rbs,4pts,4 turnovers.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

can they suspend him already?

A guy who does literally nothing on offense talks about his teammates...

Jeff Green had a shoulder sprain that 4th game. However, having said that there is something to be said about how (even if its just aesthetic) he kinda fades out of focus on offense for stretches.

This really takes the cake. Shut your pie-hole and start doing something to help this team win ballgames. Then you can talk.

This one is much worse...

Wallace, who is never one to mince words, was asked if he has seen anything positive from the Celtics. “All I’ve seen is excuses,” he said.

What's Crash's excuse for stealing 10 million a year?  Would have more credibility if he ripped on his own play.

Maybe he puts in the effort but his play has been pretty poor all year
My guess is he is trying to mouth his way out of Boston into a trade
But who is going to want one of the most overpaid players in the nba who can't won't shoot?

Side thought, this statement is an indirect dig at Stevens who has reduced Wallace's minutes to that 17 a game

Are we expecting players to be positive when the team is on a major losing streak?  This doesn't bother me that much.

This is a bad team, Wallace is a veteran who has worked hard in his career and he undoubtedly feels he's earned a chance to be on a good team making runs into the playoffs.

On top of that, the guy in front of him sure does seem to struggle with being assertive and fiery on a regular basis, if not actually having problems with focus / effort.

I've defended Wallace's public outbursts, but this one is completely moronic and petty from a guy complaining about playing time... and we're supposed to give credence to his "team first" mentality?

Sorry Wallace, but now you've lost me.

Yes, because it's part of being a professional. How did KG act during those lean years in Minny? Wallace just needs to be quiet and not complain to the media every other week. What good does that do?
