Just figured I thought I'd update on how Lee is doing in Memphis. At the top of the 4th quarter versus the Thunder he's got 22pts 5 rbs and 2 asts on 60% shooting. THATTA BOY LEEE!!

I'm really glad that he's doing well. I was watching the 1st qtr and was doing so many good things for them and knocking down the 3. Memphis seems to be a good fit for him.

I wonder if Houston is kicking themselves for not dealing us Asik.  Lee, Bass plus a #1 seems to be a pretty solid return at this point.

Good God, Lemon Danny, what have you done?

But it makes sense when you think about it. The one thing the Grizz have been missing is outside shooting from a consistent "dynamic wing".

I think there's been a study on good combos where the winningest combo in the NBA is a good big and a good wing (not entirely sure if it's a study, might actually be an opinion piece, but I do have some recollection of it being a study). Memphis has 5 good bigs...

Lee fits like a glove for them. Good for Lee.

This trade was good for everyone. This is good even for Bayless.

Don't think the C's lost out. Lee is playing well because of fit. We still have 5, 6 guards with half of them not getting playing time.

He really does fit well with them. I'm watching the game and he looks comfortable. He's being aggressive, getting to the basket, and knocking down big shots. Wish we could have seen that last season, but I'm happy for him and his situation.

He's got talent. Glad to see him doing well there. I think his contract is a bargain if he's utilized properly. He slumped when he started here, and then Doc did his weird rotation thing and never let Courtney really be the player he could have been. This year...the minutes aren't there if you want to play Steez and Bradley, which is what we've done. Too bad. I think it was a win-win trade, though. I suspect he'll be very good in Memphis, and Bayless will be comparable here (and gives us cap relief after the season).

Apparently they can't re-sign Parsons if they get Lee.

But Bass plus a first?

I still think it's very stupid to allow Asik to sit when they're contending this year. Hope it comes back and haunts them.

Parsons has one more year at the minimum, right?  Looking at Houston's cap, unless they're planning on giving Parsons a max deal, they should have the flexibility to re-sign him without a huge problem (and the same would be true if they had Lee).

I must be overlooking something.

Yes they can waive his 4th year at 900k (more than minimum but not a ton more) and eat 200k to make him a RFA.

This means they don't get a bargain on that fourth year, but he won't hit FA without team control. If he hits a full four years service time he's unrestricted.

Danny has no doubt emailed every other GM in the league: "See?!?! When I tell you my guy can really help your team, it is most certainly true! How about Bass and Crawford for your lottery pick?"

Lee really turned it around this year. Not sure why he couldn't get it together last year; but with Crawford and Bradley did not have space to run him. Would rather have dealt Crawford but would not have made sense till Rondo is back. As long as Bradley is the future Lee was going to be stuck behind him.

Lee and Allen quite a tandom of under appreciated former C's

at this point, I'm starting to question Doc's coaching. Under Doc, Lee didn't do much

Under Stevens, in short minutes, Lee was very efficient and now in Memphis, given 25+ minutes, he's really showing people what he can really do.

There's a reason why he was coveted two years ago, and why we are so happy that we signed with us. This is the real Courtney Lee. Doc really misused him as a ball handler and distributor and didnt give him enough minutes too, who probably got Lee's confidence shot down.
