Dream on, he hates the fans here.

Remember when that fan who is a word that will get censored on these boards poured beer on him as he was leaving the tunnel a couple years back?  He is never coming here.

Anyways, the smart move is this: LA, Miami and NYC, the three biggest free agent destinations as of now, will be in a bidding war for LeBron.  Dallas will need to spend all their negotiating power on Dirk first and foremost.  We can swoop in on any other free agent in that period, all of whom will feel slighted that they aren't being courted harder.

If we get a top 5 pick + a healthy Rondo + a marquee free agent, we will have a real team.  We already have all the role players a big 3 could need! We could get Bosh and Exum with the 5th or 6th pick, then have Rondo / Exum / Green / Sullinger / Bosh.  That is a crazy upgrade on what we're running out now.  We could get Embiid and Gordon Hayward.  We could get Parker and Greg Monroe.  The point is that we're flexible.

Don't think Lebron would sign in LA. He has too much pride to be second fiddle to Kobe. I think he's stated a few years back that he didn't sign in Chicago was because MJ played there and he wants to be the "guy" for a team like Kobe was to the Lakers, MJ was to the Bulls, Duncan is to the Spurs, etc.

I believe his only two options will be Cleveland or Miami. All depends if he wins a champions this year. He would make the Cavs instant contenders.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

I agree 100% that he won't sign in LA or NYC, but the little Busses that are running the Lakers and James Dolan are terrible owners with huge egos that want to take shortcuts.  I would be shocked if they didn't try publicly courting him.  I also somehow forgot the Cavs will also be going after him.  LA/NY/Dallas/Cle/Miami are 5 of 32 teams that will effectively be out of the running to do an early pick up on Carmelo, Hayward, Bosh and Monroe.  There aren't many teams with tons of cap room after those 5, so I think we have a realistic shot at adding one of those guys.

I posted my "Lebron to Boston" article at fanpost. I think it was too long for here. Losing double digit games in a row triggers flights of fancy.

Without making major trades Boston has no where near the cap space for a max contract.  This has been said on this board over and over again and yet people continually keep posting threads like this and I have no idea why.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I thought I read that the C's only had 42 mil in committed salary for next year. One or two more trades to shed salary would put us in the ballpark wouldn't it? Maybe I  heard wrong.

I'm feeling Ainge has a better chance of signing me with cap space than he does LeBron.

Haha. Exactly.

I think it is trivially easy for the Celtics to find a team with cap space willing to absorb the expiring contract of Bass this off-season for a first-round pick, so you should count his salary as unofficial cap space to add to the possibility of renouncing all free agents as a way to clear room to sign a max free agent.  It's not as much of a sure thing, but you could probably dump Wallace for two picks, so you can probably create room to sign a max guy by trading three first-round picks.  If you can sign a guy worth the max, then effectively trading three firsts for him should be worth it.
