Actually by sending Green to New York and forgetting about Asik and putting Sully as PF and Bosh at Center we'd cut this by 8 million to $76 million.

Wait this is a joke right?

I'm sorry but no way.

Knicks are going to want more than just one pick, and at least Crawford, and probably for us to take on Amare Stoudemarie contract.

Stephenson is a RFA and Bird has stated his admiration for his game, so I seriously doubt we'll be able to sign him...

It's based on your perspective, quite simply

They might want another pick, so we give them one. How bout the Clippers 2015 pick or our own 2015 pick? We'll be so good it will be worthless anyway. Give them a 2nd rounder too.
There is no way we take on Stoudemire- that's the price they pay for our top 5 lottery pick. Give them Olynyk too.

Small Market Indiana is going to struggle keeping Hibbert, West, George and Stephenson if he gets more than 8 million. Their owners won't go into tax, so I can't see it being too hard to peel him away.

You'd have to add 2-3 million for the bench most likely considering the veteran deals.

Bosh sucks, not giving a max to that chump. Sully will be better within 2 seasons.

My contending roster

Pg: rondo
SG: Bradley
SF: parker or Wiggins
PF: Sully
 C: Asik

Or

Rondo
AB
Melo
Sully
Embiid

  • TRANSFORMATION INTO CHAMPION COMPLETE!!!
That's not enough for Melo, who will never be the best player on a championship team.

Jeff Green might get you Asik but there would probably have to be more moving parts.

Lance isn't leaving Indiana.

Bosh is worth nowhere near 22 million a year. He is mostly a spot up shooter now, the second he leaves Miami his significant decline will be exposed.

I hate to say it but Pierce and KG are not worth signing at this point to be your primary bench contributors. I wouldn't be surprised if KG retires after this year. Danny traded them at just the right time.

Sullinger is a starter in the NBA, he's now played 81 games for his career, that's not even a full season. He has the look of a player that could develop into a very, very good player, not someone to stash on the bench and back up Asik or Bosh.

Points for creativity, but this idea, even if it ever happened, makes you a good team but probably not a title contender. If the Celtics have a high lottery pick the best thing they could do is draft a young prospect and build for years to come. This isn't 2008, the players aren't out there to come here and take over the league like Ray and KG did.

Bosh is a center who is playing power forward on Miami and giving up shots and usage to Lebron and Wade.
Put him on a team as a 2nd option behind Melo and he'd destroy it. Remember in 2010 he was averaging 24 and 11 rebounds as the number one option. He has also become and elite defensive big and can stretch the floor with that jumpshot better than any big man other than Aldridge. Playing against KG really toughened him up and at age 29 he has plenty of mileage left on his engine.
Sully's great but he'd also be great to bring in off the bench.

This isn't 2008, the players aren't out there to come here and take over the league like Ray and KG did.

1)I don't think Melo's been given enough help to have a championship team. This would be his chance. He took the Nuggets to the WCF in 2009 against the Lakers, who beat us eventually.

Who's he played with that you'd say is good enough to be the 2nd best player on a championship team? (in their prime with him).

What had Paul Pierce done before KG+Ray? They share similar stories actually.

2)Why wouldn't Lance leave Indiana? Have you seen their cap situation? Their owners don't like tax. He's not leaving 4 million on the table for Larry Bird.

3) You're putting Bosh in the same bin as Carmelo which isn't justified. Just because you think he's soft doesn't mean he's not a top 5 big man in the NBA. Again, his usage, shots, responsibility have been reduced and altered to cater to Lebron and Wade.
If he's not worth 23 million then maybe he'd come to us for a longer term deal at 18 million. Who knows.
Why do you think Lebron and Wade wanted Bosh to come to Miami? For his haircut?
Look at his advanced stats and numbers. He's a legitimate number one option at center.

4) If you don't think this team with Rondo, Carmelo, Bosh, Stephenson and Asik or Sully is a contender I don't know what to say. Pair each position up with Indiana's current squad or a Miami Squad without Bosh. What positions do they win?

Rondo vs Hill
Stephenson vs ?
Melo vs George
Bosh/Sully vs West
Asik/Bosh vs Hibbert?

How bout the Thunder?

Rondo vs Westbrook
Stephenson vs Sefalosha
Melo vs Durant
Bosh vs Ibaka
Asik vs Perkins

Throw any unit you want at that team. They score, they defend HARD and have size.

On the flip side, that's definitely a contending team.

You don't think Stephenson would be willing to take a discount to remain a Pacer? On numerous occasions, he's credited the Pacers organization and Larry Bird in particular for being so patient with him and allowing him to develop into the burgeoning young star he is. He's also stated that he wants to stay in Indiana.

This was a troubled young man who is enjoying some success at the professional level and much of that is due to the organization into which he was drafted. I absolutely believe he'd leave a few million on the table for Larry Bird.

Also, the Knicks are getting virtually nothing in your trade scenario except for Wallace's contract. If they trade Melo, they would only do so for legitimate assets (young players and useful picks), not a bunch of role players and an overpaid Gerald Wallace.

No.

This is this players chance to set himself up for life.  This could be his only big contract.

Yep, considering that he has only made 3.5 mil in his career, hes going for the most amount of money $$$ while he can.

This is why I think AB is gone. Some GM is going throw him close to 9mil per year and Danny (rightfully so) will let him walk.
