I believe the time is now for DA to make a veteran clearing move. The team as its currently on an 8 game skid and Rondo is looking close to coming back. Looking at the last 8, the Cs could have been 4 of 8 if Rondo was playing.

In order to stay in the bottom of the lottery (where they need to be) a trade needs to happen before Rondo comes back. DA can use the losing streak as his fake logic for the trade. A trade like a Green,Bass and Crawford for Gordon, MKG and the lesser of their 2 1st needs to happen to combat the return of Rondo. Bring in a player like MKG who appears to have lost is luster as a high potential prospect would be perfect for the current state of this team. The rest of this season gives the Cs a chance to build him back up and decide if he is worth being in the long term Cs plans.

I also feel the time has come to more Green. Neither he nor Avery will ever be stars but Avery is more consistent and at his age still has alot of room to grow. The reason I bring AB into a discussion about Green being traded has to do with there contracts. If the Cs have both AB and Green making over 8mill next season that will be to much money for two non allstar level players. Green should be moved for a cheaper alternative and AB needs to be signed as the long term SG.

Green may not be a star, but if the Celtics do trade him, they need to get value back.  (same with Bass, AB)

Rubio's such an awful shooter and reluctant scorer its hard to separate out his normal injury struggles and just bad shooting games. He did get his assists when he first came back but he didn't look for his shot for a full month. Not that you want Rubio shooting that much when he can't make layups.

I can see Rondo not looking for his own offense for a good period too coming back.

The East is awful but it does look like the Knicks and Nets are starting to figure it out.  Remember when Rondo was healthy last year with a better supporting cast, the team was under .500 before he went down. 

To think Rondo is going to come out and play at a consistent All-Star level like he did in the past is unrealistic IMO....

My point is that rondo "could" come back at 90% and make this team just good enough to jump up in the standings in this terrible eastern conference. DA has to make the best moves possible with his personel but I think time is now against him. Yes the Cs where 500 with rondo last year but the east was t this bad last season.

an injured rondo at pg is better than a healthy Crawford, Bradley, bayless or pressey at pg.

I think rondo won't come back & be the driver to the basket he once was but I think teams will still play off of him, wanting him to prove he can make jump shots.

I also think when rondo comes back he'll shoot close to 50% from the floor. taking mostly jumpshots.

You can bet Danny is very active but he's not the type of (bad) GM who's going to start dumping players for poor value in fear of winning too many games.

  When you consider Bradley was out, Green struggled while coming back from heart surgery and PP and Jet were struggling with injuries the claim that he had a better supporting cast last year is fairly dubious.
