Great! This is exactly what green should be doing just about every night. Glad to see him performing well once more. He always has some games in a row such as these. Hiowever, hs history to date has been to follow them up with mediocre performances.
Hopefully this time he keeps on doing well. Maybe Stevens has gotten through to him.
He has never rebounded this well, though.
4 double digit rebounding games since being a Celtic. No, I'm not saying he's got 6 in total now. I'm saying including the past 2 games vs. the Dubs and the Clips he now has 4 in total.
He didn't score all that well today (but the aggressiveness was there) so it's nice to see his rebounding isn't tied to his scoring.
This.
I always keep an eye on Jeff Green's rebounding numbers. It's the one part of his game that I think he could easily take a leap in with just a little effort. The guy doesn't even try to rebound on most nights the ones he gets are the ones that fall into his lap. For him to have 3 games with 8+ rebounds in a row is pretty huge. By simply being more aggressive on the boards he would become a much more impactful player.
Yeah this was the main premise of the topic...I don't care about his points, he's pretty much always going to be a 15-20ppg scorer, in fact I think once Rondo returns to full health he'll be a 20 ppg guy-playing with Crawford and Bradley just isn't the same.
The rebounds are something he's specifically concentrated on IMO, and to get those numbers three games in a row against Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, Bogut, Lee, Speights, Aldridge, Lopez. Numbers like that are what we'd need from him regularly to be a top 5 SF.
I have been ripping on him lately with his lackluster effort but with Rondo coming back and a continued rebounding effort could see him getting 20 and 8 regularly.
That being said, we've had similar hopes before and he's let us down.
Food for hope though.
