Straight swap of Brandon Bass for Greg Monroe. They diversify their frontcourt with actual perimeter shooting that is efficient, we get an true centre/expiring deal. Maybe a few picks needed to sweeten the deal, maybe Detroit decide its not worth stress of fighting to keep a potentially high cost big man in free agency in a front court that plain just not meshing. Bash away at the idea!

To say its the worst only 9 days in is a little much. Also I wouldn't call it the worst idea. I mean if you could get Monroe for Bass thats a heck of a trade for the C's.

So I would say it would be the "most unlikely trade" thus far of 2014.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Jeff Green is the guy we need to trade if we want Monroe.

It absolutely makes sense for Detroit, and I think Danny can sell that as it is.

If we want a straight swap, that's it. If they want picks, then throw the Clips 1st but we get a 2nd back.

Id love this. Makes some sense too .

Edit: Money-wise it doesn't work, but Green+Bass for Monroe+Villinuava works.

Not a chance after this post. I've got the "most unlikely trade of the year involving the Cs" locked up:

LBJ and Wade

for

Hump, Crash, Bogans, Crawford, Faverani, and Brooks.

Works money-wise.  Riley rids himself of difficult problems in the future, Ainge rids himself of a heap of dung. Hence the name of the trophy.
