Hearing rumblings about chicago trading even more of their players (in this case, Heinrich).  Looks like they will be stiff competition in the race to the bottom.

What is their record at the moment?  With the rumor of Rose saying he'll be back before the season end, I'm not sure about their chances

Their team is still better than us, I think.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

There was even speculation(Chad Ford) that even Noah could be on the block.

Also, that Thibs isn't thrilled about  the tank and about them trading his son (Deng) away.

The C's have lost their last six in a row--and still they're only 8th in the tank race.

They really need an 0-fer-January to get squarely into the race for third, which is probably the best they can hope for.

I think Thibs and the veteran players in Chicago are too proud to tank. I thing the deng trade inspires them to player harder... For a while. Then at some point Noah always goes down for 5-10 games. In the end i expect Chicago to land around 35 wins.

But the way, if Noah were ever dropped in a fire sale, he would make an excellent Celtic.

Agreed on Noah.

Super bummer for Thibs, though.

Yeah, that Carlos Boozer + Joakim Noah + Taj Gibson big man rotation is very, very good. They gotta break that up if they want to tank properly.

Yeah that big man rotation and some sort of health from Butler should keep them from being a high lottery team.

The Bulls would have to try hard to really tank, though I think they might. Problem is, they'd have to find teams willing to match up salaries for Boozer. Noah, they'd definitely find partners, but they'd need to get expiring contracts back, and the thing is, Noah is someone they really shouldn't trade for the long-term, anyway.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I don't think they'll tank. They won their next 4 or 5 games after trading Deng and they still may hold hope of Rose playing again this season considering how quickly his recovery is going.
even if they move Boozer they still have Gibson and Mohammed.
To me, they're one level above us because of their big man rotation.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I thought they were going to waive Boozer under the amnesty clause or something. That is, if they can't deal him.

I expect them to deal Dunleavy and Hinrich eventually. Noah will get some injury as he always does and they'll shut him down.

The combination of teams being "smarter" about rebuilding (i.e. willingness to embrace tanking) and the number of injuries to key players is contributing to the horrible product this year. New Orleans is the next team to likely blow it up now that Anderson is gone for at least two months.

I wouldn't worry about Rose coming back.  Even when he was healthy they weren't reallyanybetter statistically with himthere  He's just a show off piece who bring crowds in.  If he'sbackfrom aninjury and not at 100%, then he could hurt then more than he helps them.
