The difference, really, is that while those pop stars and entertainers are being directed towards those gigs by managers who don't really care about human rights violations, Dennis Rodman is pretty clearly an alcoholic who got hooked into this whole North Korea thing by Vice, who've got absolutely no interest in seeing him get healthy and centered.
So the whole thing is this elaborate point-and-laugh centered around the fact that The Worm isn't doing very well in his personal life. I don't hold with that--I think it's pretty similar to laughing at mentally or physically disabled people. Or the homeless. So you're mocking the guy headed over there because he's so screwed he has to entertain a dictator who is successfully keeping his people from approaching anything like the life you're living where you can post about it on CB. You're a champ. I hope you shine your participation trophy daily.
I think I'll keep my humor targeted at the expense of the fully functioning emotional troglodytes who think this stuff is funny. They're much more hilarious.
1. So you're saying that the stars' hands are clean and that they have no moral obligation to, at the minimum, think that what they're doing is the least bit wrong? Interesting. Please, tell me more.
2. How do you know that Vice has played any hand in this endeavor? And even if that were true, let's not make Rodman out to be some kind of hero, ok buddy? How many times has he been cited for domestic violence?
3. You're missing the entire point of the post. I'm not, have never, and would never, mock someone who's mentally and/or physically disabled or is homeless. What I am saying is that the absurdity of the entire situation (ex players playing for a dictator) is what makes it hilarious - that's all.
4. I know all about the Great Leader, whose people are starving, who altered the diary of Anne Frank, who is responsible for the horrific number of concentration/work camps, and there was even a story last year about parents who ate their child to stay alive, so don't condescend to me.
5. You should be very careful of the things that you say to people. I believe that your comments are in direct violation of the forum posting rules. Would you like to sell me some Geico insurance while you're at it? What is your problem?
You're a champ. I hope you shine your participation trophy daily.
It takes one to know one. I'll be reporting this.
