With the Lee / Bayless trade, the Celtics have freed up enough money to sign a 15th player to the roster without exceeding the luxury tax.

Who should they sign?  Or, are they better off keeping the spot empty until after the trade deadline, in order to give more flexibility in a future trade?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say we may sign Terrence Williams, so just signed with the LA D-league team.

Not to tout my qualifications too highly, but I can sit on a bench with the best of them.

I vote keep the slot.

Another possible reason to keep it open is that our personnel needs might depend on how Rondo's return goes (and when he returns).

I don't think they sign anyone yet.  I feel like with the Lee for Bayless trade, Danny has just pushed the first domino.  I expect more moves between now and the trade deadline, maybe that spot ends up filled through trade(s) or maybe more spots are opened.  I don't think any signings until after the deadline.
Mock Deadline Denver Nuggets
Nurcic/Henson
Patterson/Bennett/Arthur
Ross/Budinger
Miller/Hunter/Foye
Rubio/Ennis/Bayless

Nothing. They'll just have 14 players suited up;
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;

they'll keep it open.  it'll provide flexibility if we have to take back 1 more player than we send out in any upcoming deals.  now that we have a little more financial flexibility, I'd be surprised if another deal isn't made by Danny to move another vet on a longer deal

I think they'll sign Romero Osby from Maine after the trade deadline has passed.  I think he'll get the same deal as Pressey (three years, non-guaranteed the next two summers).

Cut Bayless.  He's unnecessary.  Frees up a couple spots for one of those Rondo + Wallace for Thomas + Thompson + McLemore + Thornton + picks trade.

Or Rondo + Wallace + Bass for Gordon + Biyombo + MKG + Sessions + Walker + picks...

Basically any trade that dumps salary for expiring players + young talent.

Another one would be like...

Rondo + Wallace + Bass for Villunueva, Stuckey, Jennings, Monroe and Caldwell-Pope.

Dumping lots of salary and getting some young assets.

If the Celtics can add a minimum salary player, I'd be happy with a center like Tim Ohlbrecht.

Nothing yet.

Try and move another contract to open up more space under the tax level.

Then use the TE to add another player.

Pick up a cheap vet min rotational center like Jason Collins, maybe score a few Tommy Points with the liberal media in the process [sic]
