Question on Bogans:

When does the next year of his deal become guaranteed? There's a lot of discussion about the PP trade exception, but the Cs could also trade Bogans non-guaranteed deal this summer, I believe.

Could be a nice asset, especially considering it likely doesn't become guaranteed until after the PP exception expires.

Can't combine the contract with the exception.

According to Shamsports, there are no guarantee dates on either of his remaining two years.

I think soon enough ainge will make a move and either bogans will be included in a deal due to his salary or name a guard; crawford, brooks, lee, bradley are being traded and extra minutes will be available.  I can't see wallace being traded and bogans is really a bit on small size to give steady minutes at sf but 10 a game easy enoug

I think a move is coming as well.

I don't feel sorry for Bogans and think it is laughable he is frustrated.   He is getting paid to sit on his butt, enjoy it.

right. was thinking separately. far more flexibility around his deal over an exception. could combine Bogans with another player, or trade him for 2 players.

Yeah, there's no doubt we have a wide variety of assets -- now we just need to find someone who's willing to give us something good for them.

This is what you say when asked about not getting PT. Like I said in the Lee thread, there are guys who should have complaints about not getting PT, more than a guy who gets 17mins a game when we have so many guards! Bogans never threw the coach under the bus. Lee was really COMPLAINING while Bogans is saying what Lee should have. Complaining about 17mins a game when at the time Hump was getting little to no mins and Bogans, Brooks, and Vitor racked up DNPs!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Not sure where this notion that Bogans is a serviceable role player came from.  He is a deep bench player and always has been.  He works hard and is a great team guy which is why he has stuck around as long as he has, but he shouldn't be playing for Boston nonetheless any contenders.

I agree. I've seen Bogans play on numerous occasions and every time i come away thinking he is by far the worst player on the court. His defense is severely overrated, and he is worthless offensively. He can make the occasional WIDE OPEN corner 3, but so can 90 percent of the NBA players.

Who would've thought Hump would be the best player in green out of the PP-KG trade?
Who else would it be? It was either Hump or Wallace, and Wallace seemed really run down.

With Hump, the question was minutes, not worthiness of minutes. He had to earn minutes because management wanted to see what the younger bigs could bring to the table first.

A lot of guys seem willing to air it out on this team.   Wallace, Lee and now Bogans that does not sit well with me.

I disagree that he's always been a deep bench player.  I mean, he started every game for a Chicago team that won 62 games.  He started 50 games for a 50-win Spurs club.  Popovich and Thibodeau know the value of a hard-nosed defender like Bogans.

He's started 333 games in his career.  I think you guys are underrating the value he's shown in the past.  I understand why he's sitting on this team, but I don't think that statistics tell Bogans' value.

He "started" for Chicago but played less than 18 minutes a game and almost never played in the 4th quarter.  Only Kyle Korver had a worse drtg on that team of any regular player.  His PER was 9.0.  Bogans worked hard and provided a certain swagger, but when you are 9th on the team in minutes you are a deep bench type player even if you technically start (and lets be clear the only other SG's on chicago were Rasual Butler and Ronnie Brewer and neither one could hit the broad side of a barn).  And that was Bogans most efficient year and his numbers were 4.4 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 1.2 apg.
