With Speights the filler. I would like to get D. Green as well if we could. For G.S. they like  Barnes But you have to think about that deal It puts them into win now mode and have an additional pick to build with. Would you pull the trigger even if it was a Brooklyn Pick.

"Hell no."

- Warriors

I suspect MKG could be had for that package. Maybe if they threw a little more our way.

Jeff Green shouldn't fetch any more than a late 1st round pick from a good team needed a sixth man off the bench. Definitely not Harrison Barnes.
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

Really? Not with a Brooklyn pick? I think people are overrating Barnes a little. He's a nice young scorer but very one dimensional. No court vision.

Right about now, I'd be surprised if Jeff Green could fetch you the Looney Tunes crew from Space Jam

He is 21!

Good defender, smart player, ATHLETIC, big, no significant deficiencies.

Upside galore!

I watch Harrison Barnes a lot (because I live in SF and see Warriors games), and while I agree that he has no court vision (or not developed it yet), he's far from one dimensional.

His ball handling has improved, and so is his slashing to the basket. We know he can shoot (although he's struggling right now) and he can post up. He can defend well, and is athletic enough to defend PG's on some occasion.

I doubt they will include Draymond though. They will have no backup SF. But if a package of Green and 1st would land Barnes in some sort of a deal, HECK YEAH!

Barnes has a PER of under 11 so far in his career and he hasn't improved over last year. Sullinger is over 15 so far in his career during the same period and has improved significantly year over year.

No significanty deficiencies? What are his significant strengths? Youth? I don't see anything except the mystical "potential" that would makes one salivate over the prospect of ditching a 3rd or 4th option in Green along with a 1st for Barnes and whoever is the GS filler.  Wouldn't do a striaght up deal for Green, never mind adding a 1st.

PER isn't the only stat that matters.  I'd rather have a 21 year old Barnes with upside.  I would only give up the Clippers pick as sweetner though.  Not to mention if we can get Monroe, I'd rather trade JG for him than for Barnes.

I like Barnes, but I definitely hope that if we trade Green, we fetch a bigger name. Even if it means parting with an asset of some kind.

Warriors wouldn't dream of doing this trade.

  • You say when......
Green is a great #2 player...not a #1....he is our Scottie Pippen....but he is much better than barnes...what do you see in barnes......you love tattoes..? Barnes is at best a #4 player...#5 even.....good help...but no leader....AND a draft pick.........I don't think so.....since when are WE getting rid of draft picks for role players.....We keep our draft picks.........at worst..we make deals with them..after we get the players.!!!

Also, please don't use Pippen and Jeff Green in the same sentence, that is such an insult to Pippen...

I don't see the reasoning of this deal specifically for GS - I think they'd be more likely to pursue a backup big or combo guard rather than a minor upgrade at the same position - I do think pegging them as a trade deadline "buyer" makes sense.

I think the race for the 4th seed in the West could push GS, LAC and HOU into buy mode. I could see GS or HOU liking Hump, Bass, Lee or Crawford.

I think Green, Fav, and Hump might fit on LAC.

The problem is, I just don't see what these teams can send back to us.
