I don't see Houston parting with Parsons anytime soon.  certainly not sending him out with Asik for an inconsistent Jeff Green and unproven KO (who's having some real shooting issues so far this season which is hurting his appeal as a trade asset and a player on the C's in general)

Green and Olynyk to Houston for Parsons and Asik.
That seems an extremely unbalanced trade.

I think we could be getting the 2 most valuable assets in that trade.

This is the only trade is see as reasonable. It's blockbuster worthy but sets up both teams to be what they are;
Houston championship bound
Boston rebuild mode lottery bound

Houston runs with Rondo, Harden, Green, Bass, Howard
Celtics rebuild with Lin, Bradley, Parsons, Sully, Asik

Can't stop, Rondo!

Or this
Works with or without TJones and Marshon swap

Rondo Sully and Green
Lin Asik and Parsons + picks
Can't stop, Rondo!

Great for Hou (a steal IMO), and terrible for Bos. Please no.

No way is Huston giving up Parsons for just Green. Rondo would have to be in the trade as well. Or at least Sully/Green.

If I were to rank the 4 players... it would be

#1 - Parsons
#2 - Asik
#3 - Green
#4 - Oly

So I see zero reason for the Rockets to give up the two best players in the trade.

I wouldn't trade Rondo unless we are dumping Wallace at the same time.

Something like this makes sense:  http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=n7p4a2d ... Houston would only do it if they were completely convinced Rondo could return to 100% and be a final piece of a championship puzzle.   Boston does it to dump salary and get a couple contributing players.   It frees up some cap space in the short term and beyond.   On paper it's good.  But of course, off paper ... the owners would to pay double that money to Asik/Lin next year because of their contracts.

Redo: Green for Asik. Pick up Jerami Grant in the draft. Green is just not a winner-why build around him?

NBA Comparison: Thaddeus Young
Strengths: Impressive physical specimen of a forward ... Has a huge wingspan (7'2"), making him a potential terror on the defensive end ... Great all-around athlete ... His combination of size and length help him to simply overpower and out athleticism smaller wing forwards ... Fantastic shot-blocking wing player ... Can guard multiple positions thanks to his length and lateral quickness ... Good offensive rebounder who can produce a lot of second-chance buckets ... Equally comfortable driving to his right or his left ... Decent shooter from out to beyond the 3pt. arc ... Unselfish player with good court awareness who makes the extra pass ... Capable of rebounding the ball and then running the fast break himself...Has a lot of raw physical tools and a decent skill set at age 19, making him a guy with a lot of upside ...

Weaknesses: Still very raw at this point in time. Only played 14 MPG last season for Syracuse, indicating that he has a long way to go to be pro-ready...Needs to expand his offensive game. Isn't a great ball handler and slasher for a small forward, and doesn't have any kind of post game ... Still a bit thin. Needs to hit the weights and add some muscle ... Shooting consistency is still a bit of an issue ... Needs to improve from the stripe. 56% free throw shooter last season..

Notes: Son of former NBA player, Harvey Grant

Are you trading Green for Asik because that is what you think Houston would demand or do you just not like Green?

It says that Grant projects to be Thaddeus Young, but Green and young are possibly two of the most comparable players in the NBA - even coming down to being lottery picks in the same round. If it is Young you want, we already have him.

What about Rondo? Would you rank him over Parsons? jk  ;)

I'm glad Morey is a genius and won't take our garbage for his "stars". Totally fine with that.

Omer-Wilt-Kareem-Asik is too good to wear Celtic green. And Chandler Parsons is the next Kiki Vandeweghe combined with Dan Majerle and George Gervin. Total All-NBA first teamers.

Trade deadline can't come soon enough.

I'd rather have Asik than Green going forward.Build around Asik, Rondo,Sullinger and Bradley. By the way Olnyk will never amount to much in this league, so he's not an option at center.

Pipe dream. No way they would give up a great piece like Parsons just to get rid of Asik. I like Green & Olynyk, but there's no chance they fetch Asik + Parsons

Can we seriously stop with the Asik trade threads?  This has gone beyond annoying to the point of straight out rediculous.  At the very least can we have a single sticky thread for everybody to put their Asik trade ideas in?

It's just getting beyond the joke.  Every second day there is a new Asik trade thread.  I was almost devastated when the trade never happened, only because I thought "finally, this trade will happpen and those irritating Asik threads will stop".

Asik isn't here.  He's probably not coming here.  I wouldn't WANT him here.  He's garbage, and he is without a doubt the most overrated player of all time in this CB community.

Just FYI everybody - Omer Asik is not the second coming of Hakeem, nor the second coming of Shaq, nor the second coming of David Robinson.  He's not even the second coming of Vin Baker.

No, he is Kendrick Perkins - the defensive minded role player who gets an oversized contract because he was made to look much better than he is by playing on a stacked team, then got exposed for how mediocre when he goes to a team that isn't stacked so stacked.

Newsflash about Asik:  He is a role player who was in a starting role and being paid starter money.  When Houston gave him that contract they were the laughing stock of the NBA.  He was the luckiest man in the NBA for falling in that position.  Now he's put in the role he deserves and he has the nerve to requesting a trade because of it?  That's like a homeless person being given a management position in a large company paying $150,000 a year out of pure kindness...then requesting a transfer because he was demoted to assistant manager (but still makes the mananger money).

The facts.

1. Asik is a role player
2. Asik is a arrogant brat who thinks he's better than he really is
3. Asik is on a horribly overvalued contract

Houston were desperate to trade him earlier, but the trade never happened. Why?  Because no team in the NBA wants him enough to offer Houston anything of value.  Boston's package of Lee and Bass was reportedly BY FAR the best offered.  What does that tell you about his value?  Nobody wants him.  Everybody in the entire NBA knows that he is an overated bum of a role player with a poor attitude on a stupid contract.  Everyone knows that except...people here.

Now pleaaaaase can the Asik threads stop!!!
